I know it's only a small thing but it always bothered me as a kid watching this: what did it say on the two shopping bags in the titles of SMTV? There's a cartoon head that then ducks out of the way and these two shopping bags are pushed aside to reveal the TV with SMTV on. It kind of looks like Sainsburys but the logo's all different!

Is Blade (or was it Blaze?) Television still going?

I think I'm right in saying that the bags said Sainsways on them, of course I could be wrong. As for SM:tv I agree that the Ant, Dec, Cat era was the strongest era, in a way I wish that ITV had have asked Holly & Stephen to do SM:tv rather than creating a new show, although MoM/Saturday Showdown is a massive improvement on what ITV offer now.

I'll get more into this topic soon as I was a massive SM:tv Live fan too, I'll see what happens with this full episode on you tube (as in, if it gets pulled down) before I attempt to upload anything.

And I agree about CITV, the Steven Ryde years were fantastic for presentation, and it just so happened that it co insided with a massive budget investment, quality programmes, and of course SM:tv Live.
I've said this before, but I'd much rather see ITV broadcast a Saturday Morning programme to fill their kids quota on a Saturday, in a way I have to look back and be glad of what they offered whilst I was growing up and feel sorry for the kids today.

And I totally agree with the comment about roping them up when they're young. I tend to watch more ITV, even have it on in the background because I watched more CITV when I was young and growing up, and now, I know that there's a channel, but a channel which airs more hours of Children's with a lot less budget, its just not right.

Two months late, but better late than never. This year celebrates the 10th anniversary of one of the most popular Saturday Morning shows to hit our screens, and thanks to a loving Youtube user, they've uploaded a full episode - lacks the TV shows but fully makes up for it with Challenge Ant in Part 3. Sadly, whilst it's a show most of us wants to come back, Ant and Dec made it their own, and I doubt they'd ever make a comeback to children's telly... fingers crossed...

Watch Here!

Happy Birthday SM:TV!

I'm glad someone on here finally found the videos I uploaded, thanks to another YouTube user called 'thejeep2000' for having the tapes Smile

Who was the voice-over man in Chums? He seemed to have disappeared around mid 2000.

Happy Birthday C4?. Happy Birthday SMTV?

Surely SMTV Live isn't 10? It's been off air almost as long as it was on now. Even then it was only good for about 2 of the 5 years it aired.

I was a fan as well but it did go a bit flat when Ant & Dec left, it was still watchable though. After Cat & James left it lost its way a little bit especially towards the end when there seemed to be no consistent presenting team. When it was took off air and was replaced by MOM, that was a pile of rubbish until half way through its second year. Holly & Stephen really made the show into their own and it was just becoming recognised as a really good Saturday morning show, but ITV went and pulled the plug before it could really get going properly. That show definitely had a lot of mileage left and MOM definitely lost something very special when they moved into the flat and played about with the format. It wasn't as good as SMTV Live but if it was allowed even just another year, maybe people could look back on that show as being one of the best from the era when the TV execs stopped caring about kids TV.

Plus with the extra year they wouldn't have had Dick & Dom as competition after the March anyway. Showdown improved through its run, but its the fact that they had to go back to square one that was a problem.
