Two months late, but better late than never. This year celebrates the 10th anniversary of one of the most popular Saturday Morning shows to hit our screens, and thanks to a loving Youtube user, they've uploaded a full episode - lacks the TV shows but fully makes up for it with Challenge Ant in Part 3. Sadly, whilst it's a show most of us wants to come back, Ant and Dec made it their own, and I doubt they'd ever make a comeback to children's telly... fingers crossed...
It was good from when Zoe and Jamie left Live & Kicking until when Ant & Dec left, that was it's peak, it just didn't take itself seriously and thats why people loved it, and probably the only decent ITV saturday morning programme since Tiswas.
Can't believe that was Ten years ago, I feel well old, although when I saw this starting I thought it won't last, I can't remember any ITV Saturday morning series lasting at that point, how wrong I was.

and the amout of stuff there got away with!
remember the garden gnomes:
Council gmoes which were very clear to be ladies of the night!¬
I know it's only a small thing but it always bothered me as a kid watching this: what did it say on the two shopping bags in the titles of SMTV? There's a cartoon head that then ducks out of the way and these two shopping bags are pushed aside to reveal the TV with SMTV on. It kind of looks like Sainsburys but the logo's all different!
Is Blade (or was it Blaze?) Television still going?
Is Blade (or was it Blaze?) Television still going?
It was Blaze, and apparently they had budget issues which led to CD:UK being axed. I think it was bought by an American company eventually, hence CD:USA.
Memories. Grew up watching this. Remember watching the last ever episode of Chums.....brilliant stuff.
There's nothing like this on TV now, and in my opinion TV execs have essentially signed their own death warrants with the lack of decent kids TV. Mainly because if kids don't watch TV and become addicted to a particular TV show when they're kids, are they really going to bother with it when they grow up?
SMTV was great, such a shame nothing like it exists now.
I always found the "there's kids channels for kids programmes" a rather weak argument. With the amount of genres been moved off of BBC 1 & ITV 1 I do wonder what these channels are supposed to represent, content wise, sometimes
I was never a fan (hears rapturous boos!). I tried to stick with L&K really until the end although I agree after Zoe and Jamie left it really took a kicking (no pun intended).
Incidentally Going Live! was 21 in September.
Watching bits of SM:tv Live does make you realise how much kids TV has changed and I think it's a real shame.
