Recently rescanned my Freeview box to be greeted by a new channel. Anyone have any clue as to what it is all about? Not another late night quiz channel surely...

Apparently it's using UKTV Historys downtime ? Obviously some kind of viewer participation channel.

Top Up TV Active on channel 107, or on Top Up TV channel downtimes has a 'QUIZWORLD' logo, underneath it there is 'Watch tonight on Channel 37'.
So smileTV is the channel, Quizworld is the programme....

tuned in late so missed what happened at 1am (ident/whatever), but at the moment they're showing a programme called "short cutters". basically short films (some rather good, couple of which i have seen previously) linked together by 2 guys. short films as in amateur, rather than channel 4 financed etc - but still, they're good. whether or not it'll appeal to the public or not is another matter.

The domain name (www.smiletelevision.co.uk) is registered to Cellcast, who are behind Grab A Grand, Text 2 Date, Psychic Interactive and various other similar shows that are all over Sky.
Short Cutters which was on last night is also shown on You TV (another Cellcast owned channel).

Shortcutters - well some of the short films made me smile, especially Doom Farm
then........Jack La Lanne's Power Juicer!!!!! Noooo!!!!! and the Lateral Thigh Trainer!!! Noooo!!
then the same episode of shortcutters again!!!
Nuts. Smiling with incredulity at the crapness of it all.
