For the third Saturday in recent months, SMG have got the ITV1 feed tonight. Just before the end of Animals Do The Funniest Things, we had the ITV1, 2, 3 straplines, followed by the ITV1 ECP and announcer. The ITV1 ECP was then partly covered up by the SMG ECP, and Colin the SMG announcer talked over the ITV1 announcer. He did the now, next, later announcements, then said, “and THAT voice WILL disappear”, referring to the ITV1 announcer.
I noticed the ITV 1 announcer doing the end credits over the film this afternoon.I realy don't know why SMG don't just take the ITV 1 feed now anyway. The local announcers are very poor and old hat .I thought that Annie Scott was realy dreadful with her scripting style over the past two nights especailly during the events and disruption with the trouble in London.

At least on this occasion they used the sombre ident all Thursday evening, bar the intro to the regional programme at 7.30. p.m.
What a mess at that junction. SMG are still receiving the ITV1 feed, and Colin is getting very annoyed. They faded out the ITV1 announcer this time, but still had the ITV1 ECP. What is going on, and why does this always happen on a Saturday?
this seems to be happening this evening on utv as well
Just noticed that myself. At the end of "It Shouldn't Happen On A TV Awards Show" we had the ITV1 anouncer over the credits. It was followed though by the UTV break bumper and then the film was introduced in-vision by Julian. Strange...

Does anyone have any video captures? I'd love to hear how annoyed the announcer is.
There was one link on UTV tonight (can't remember which one, the TV was just burbling in the background at the time and I switch to UTV as a matter of course if ever watching ITV these days), which was a total and utter hash. Julian came up, reading a script, looked up, obviously surprised to be on early and introduced the programme, paused a few seconds, laughed then they went to the ITV1 ident where the London anno introduced it all over again.
I watch through a TiVo box so have it captured on my DVD recorder

You know, sometimes it feels like it might be an idea for Scottish to take the ITV1 feed. They've just shown the ident involving the guy who used to present Scottish Passport again at the 11pm junction - exactly how long ago was he dumped from the channel?
I'd be unhappy when ITV PLC takes over SMG, especially as they are the only major Scottish media company going following EMAP's takeover of SRH, but the presentation couldn't fail to improve.
Well hopefully if the apparent new look later this year is half decent SMG will take it. Can't say you're missing out on much in Scotland though - at least you don't have that vulgar Southern woman.

Well, that would imply that the fault is in London... and that the clean-ish feed that Scottish/Grampian and UTV use has been dirtied.
Does anyone on this forum work in the ITV network transmission centre, or indeed in the pres areas at UTV or Scottish? Just wondering how much fiddling goes on with the ITV1 network schedule throughout the day, and how changes are communicated to UTV and Scottish? Also, do the announcers in Belfast / Glasgow have access to the script used by the ITV 1 announcer?
