Yes, but apart from the initial batch of celebs, they've never bothered before have they ?

And if they don't want to adopt the itv plc identity then they have the perfect opportunity to stamp their own mark, yet they fail to do so, and you end up with a mish mash of presentation.

What's the problem ? Lack of resources, creativity, inclination ? If you're not going to make the effort, may as well just submit to ITVplc. If I were in SMG land, I think I'd be kicking and screaming for ITV plc presentation.

The presentation is awful, but I can't see SMG giving up the two stations for ages yet.

That is a shame.......however the presentation dep needs a huge kick up the bum!

Most of the announcers also need to sort themselves out. They sound as though they are bored to tears (mind you they will be if they are watching anything SMG produce). One of the guys always makes stupid silly comments after the soaps....this sounds naff!!

I have noticed a few new voices over the festive period and I have not heard Kate Fraser for a while.............time will tell then eh?

I would not think he is still contracted to SMG would you? I also cant imagine that SMG are so hard up they cant sort out the presentation for the two stations!

With this in mind I would hate to have our presentation come from England! Nothing against the English here but I am proud that we still (for the moment) have a Scottish broadcaster and it would be a sad day indeed if everything went South!

I think no one would give two dam about Scottish move south! As long as we still had Scottish TV logo! (At the rate its going Grampian might get scrap all together! And will just Scottish all over both networks.
It not like STV is any different form ITV expect Tuesday nights for gailce programmes and when the show some football/ election programmes or just music concert

Why don't Scottish / Grampian TV just come up with their own idents, surely they can do that if they don't like network presentation seeing as they STILL have the celebs when evryone else has dumped them

I agree, but to keep everyone happy up here it should still be owned by SMG.

I don't think they should get rid of the regional content and opt outs from the network, but instead of trying to cover up the fact they are relaying ITV 1, and all the extra costs involved in multiple trailers etc.

Adverts can use a single logo, no need to edit ECPs etc. Its like rebadging a car and selling it as new, Scottish TV is just a bunch of programmes and a logo, the channel is ITV.

And while we're on the subject, GMTV should be a programme on ITV1, not treated like another channel, and GMTV2 should just be a Kids strand on ITV2.

ITV 1 Scotland/Scottish, and just use the new idents - i mean what's the problem?!

Let ITV plc take over the franchises too, if they want - it's 2006! Who cares? Personally, i'd sooner have the station was run from London than the land of the Weeg any day!
