Maybe I'm just not watching Scottish TV enough, but SMG appear to have given up with their now/next/laters shown during the credit sequences. Instead (at least in the programmes I've seen) they've been replaced by the continuity announcer simply explaining the next programme in an old-fashioned style.

Doesn't look great I'm afraid, given that we're effectively looking at the extremely plain ITV credits, but it might be the best way forward. SMG never got the hand of the now/next/later trailers - trying to forward plug three programmes at once always seemed to baffle them, resulting in them simply reading out the programmes, rather than giving any reason to watch them.

The 'next' sequence after the news appearance to still be on the go, as the same issues which have caused problems don't come into play here.

The now / next / laters are still in use. In fact, they were used several times this evening. The announcers do sometimes talk over the end of programmes with full credits, and have done so for some time.

Ah well, I did say maybe I don't watch Scottish TV enough (although that might not be a bad thing). However the full credits situation does seem to be becoming more regular.

I take it the now/next/laters are still as generic as ever then.

No, they changed them slightly further to your recent complaints on this forum. More programme info is now given out on some ECP's. SERIOUSLY. Laughing

Full credits are appearing more than previous.
