Is it just me or should SMG actually make an effort during these junctions? On the occasions they actually bother to do it (the amount of times outwith primetime they bother is negligable, which means you're left watching a black screen and dull credits), the announcer will read out the titles of the programmes, and not for example tell you any information about them. The ITV1 feed was never like this.
There's no point in them telling me the names of the programmes - I can read. They're meant to make it sound so interesting that I want to watch it.
This is SMG, what do you expect? The sooner we join ITV1 the better. I know a lot of people don't want that but I'm just really annoyed with SMG the now.

Well ITV1 isn't much good anyway - and their regional provision is bňllocks.
I would never go as far as wanting to join ITV1. For all SMG's flaws (Scotsport SPL, poor continuity, out of date idents, Scotland Today taking Grampian programmes, a sheer lack of proper local programming, etc) it would be worse under ITV PLC. The continuity and idents would improve, but the regional programming would be (to go tabloid) slashed. At least SMG talk a good game about providing more Scottish programmes - ITV PLC wouldn't even try.

I agree, but the continuity and idents are nothing special. The continuity annoucer is now saying "Next on One" - urgh. As far as I'm concerned it's either next on Tyne Tees or next on ITV. Forget the 1, I don't know anyone who says "ITV1", other than on here. At least the programme is of quality.
Today at 2pm going into the afternnon edition of Scotland Today Kate Frazer announced into the show after the ident cleared and the presenters were in view she just can't talk to time .Brian Ford tonight just can't be bothered he is bored and you can always hear it in his voice.He makes NO effort scripting he always gives it this.Coronation Streets in half an hour the Bill is at Eight now it's Emmerdale .He is worse during the day at weekends he is just not interested and clearly can't be creative in his scripting abilities.

On Sunday night going into the late ITV Weekend News they had a smilie (not Carol thank god) celeb ident instead of the news ident that was the night the news broke about the plane crash in Iraq totally inappropriate someone at SMG Pres needs their ****kicked into shape the whole thing is just so amateur.

It wasn't Bryan Burnett (he formerly of Scottish Passport) was it? That was the ident into Orange Playlist at 12.30am, despite the fact that show was cancelled half a year ago. Still, at least we're finally getting Orange Playlist...

SMG should just take their continuity from ITV 1 it would save money and at least they do sound professional and have a bit of energy.Even Annie Scott sounds so flat and low key and just has no interest i suppose she is where she belongs on Saga Radioclassic quote "now all the latest news "breath" in the ITVeeee news " oh please .
