Slip up on LWT before ITV Weekend News

The LWT announcer Mike Carson (formerly a radio presenter) said this just now before the ITV Weekend News:

'And now on LWT, the ITV Weekend News, with Ann Nightingale...'

Yes, I saw that as well, but it didn't click that he'd made a mistake until I read your post just now

What was that supposed to mean?

He did not say 'This is LWT, good evening, I'm Frank Carson!' This is what he used to say on Magic/Melody 105.4 - where he was a very good presenter indeed - shame they got rid of him.
