Skysports Football Graphics

Is Skysports to get new graphics this year. Skysports News normally gets a new look in August, but will the football coverage.

sky sports news may wait till sky news rebrands as they are set to take over the Sky Newsroom...

I hope not, their current look is brilliant, it would be a shame to get rid so early.

Sky Sports football coverage is being upgraded to HD equipment, so it may well happen.

When HdTV broacasts of footie begin, I hope Sky will get rid of the on-screen junk (ie logo & permanent scoreboards) so we can enjoy the improved picture quality and see the game as it is meant to be seen: i.e. as if you were watching it from the stands!

I presume that they will change to the style that can be currently seen on the rugby league.

It is a continuous bar accross the top of the picture similar to the style of Foxsports their sister station.

That Super League scoreboard is absolutely awful, I hope it stays on rugby league only. Personally I wouldn't change the main astons, they are excellent, shame the cricket guys haven't got it right this year, with the special sound effect missing on their main two/three line astons.

I don't mind the current look either, the only thing I don't like about it is that they dropped the old theme tune in favour of this look, but otherwise it works and fits in well on screen.

I hope Sky Sports News does move, they've been in the same studio since 1998 (with modifications) and it's starting to look a bit dull now.
