Why ban people as they just come back as they is no law to stop you and should not be.

Actually, as an active, posting member, you have agreed to abide by the terms and conditions of TV Forum. This includes accepting that the forum staff can restrict or terminate your membership at our discretion and that you will not be given a second chance. I suggest you read this page to ensure that you are happy with our rules: http://www.tvforum.co.uk/help/terms.phtml.

You can't be fined or go to prison for it, I agree. However, if you wish to continue posting here, I suggest you follow the rules just like the vast majority of members. You don't have a right to post on TV Forum - it is a privilage granted to us by Asa. The rules are there to protect both members, visitors and the forum staff as well as to enable the community to function smoothly.

I think it's a good idea. As far as I know with Freesat, and feel free to prove me wrong on this one , all those hundreds of channels tempt you before that bloody nag screen pops up asking you to upgrade.

One thing on most forums you get banned for been anti BBC but not been anti SKY or other why is that. If you banned for anti BBC all should be banned for be anti any channel to be fair.

Nobody has ever been banned from TV Forum for being anti-BBC. We only ban members who are causing disruption or who repeatedly break the forum rules.

Is this thread still on-topic?! Laughing

On the OT note: This is a private website, not a public one, so by signing up and agreeing to the terms and conditions you are agreeing to abide by the rules etc. That's where it become law - they are well within their rights to ban you not for being anti-BBC, but for being a nuisance and breaking the terms and conditions .

On Topic: Has on-demand launched on Sky in the UK, or has it been around for months and I've completely missed the point? In Australia, Foxtel, which is almost the same in terms of equipment and services has just introduced it (using a little red button instead of a number in the EPG).

Just interested to know, that's all.

Sky are launching some kind of on-demand service in March, where "a selection of the week's best programmes" will be downloaded overnight. It has been the case for a while that a large amount of hard disk capacity on Sky+ and Sky HD boxes (TiVo-like PVR) has been reserved for these features, which will finally have a use.

When I had Sky I was annoyed that I had the option to remove the adult channels completly from the EPG, but not the hideous homophobic religious channels.

It seems fairly obvious that the only reason Sky doesn't allow you to remove whichever channels you want to, is that everyone would remove the placeholders for channels outside your subscription package, and so the constant reminder to upgrade.
