The EPG updates appear to be rolling out again - this time with the 'Deleted' tab to recover programmes, and the full catch-up service (though BBC iPlayer is flagged as Coming Soon).

I have an Amstrad HD box and we got another update that some how has just changed icons when we play recorded programs. We have had an update for the new epg weeks ago. I went onto the on-demand tab but it only had sky programs on it. does this mean we have wait until 2013 for BBC ect unless we contact Sky?

cheers, david

CUTV is being rolled out to Sky DRX850/895 boxes this week - with the addition of Demand5 & full ITV Player. BBCiPlayer follows later, and 4oD next year. Wink

Features which VM customers have had for years.

It's amazing it's taken so long for the likes of iPlayer to appear on Sky. Considering it's available on everything from games consoles to Freesat HD.

That's BBC's reluctance - not Sky's willingness!

I bought a propery built in 1996 - it doesn't have cable - as that stops at the bottom of the road, and VM (or their predecessors have stated that they have no intention to extend it). Almost everyone on the estate (approx 140 homes) has Sky.

VM isn't nationwide, and has never claimed to be. It will always be second rate!

So, why not move to a house in a cabled area? Or lobby your neighbours to request it?

Also, VM can and will extend cable to properties if the demand is there from local residents. My grandparents for example are on a non-cabled street only due to the fact that back when NTL polled the residents pre-DSO in the mid 90s, less than half said they would take it up.

Surprise surprise, when they lost analogue TV their only choice was a satellite dish.

Firstly, it wasn't my primary concern when selecting a house.

Sky transferred the service from the flat I rented while I was waiting to buy. I was happy with the (then new) Sky Digital service they offered.

Secondly, whenever I asked Telewest/Eurobell/Virgin they were unwilling to cable the small estate of two roads.

That wouldn't stop them getting the ITV Player or Channel 4 and 5 equivalents though, would it?

Are you sure the BBC were reluctant? Funny how Virgin Media had iPlayer and the Beeb are meant to be platform neutral.

Your guess is as good as mine! Laughing

I doubt I would go to the expense of selling/buying a property in order to move into a home with different TV reception: whether by DSat,DCab or DTT! Shocked

It really wasn't a consideration! I don't know anyone who would do that!
