My Sky's buggered!

Maybe this is only a temporary problem and it will correct itself in a while but I am getting a ''there is a technical fault with this channel'' message on every station. I've seen this occur briefly with a couple of channels before, but never to this scale - it's been like this for the past hour or so. I'd appreciate any help.

Have you tried restarting the box?

Simple! Cheers dbl. I assumed it was a regional problem or something so didn't think of that.

Thanks for the help.

No problem, my box sometimes does that sometimes, you just need to give it a good old restart. Smile

To restart do you just turn off at mains for a while? That's what I do when there's a fault such as the one mentioned, and when I had a normal Sky Box, I would remove the sky card aswell, but there isn't a card (at the front anyway) with sky plus afaik.

That's what I did Jonathan; just pulled the plug out for a few seconds and then waited for all the channels to load up again.

How long does it take, in your case, for the channels to load up again? It used to take mine about twelve minutes, now it's more like five.

I'm guessing it was about a minute, automatically directing me to Channel 998.

There is a card at the front of all Sky+ boxes. It's just hidden under a panel which you press to reveal it. I normally take it out when I get this problem.

You only have to restart, not do a complete download again (that's what takes 8-12 mins) Confused

Doesn't doing a forced download tend to f**k things up?

That's the impression I got with the recent SKY update thread!
