So the promotions for their much hyped 'HBO-style' channel all feature 'FishTown', a 10 part series about people living in Brixham.
Sky Atlantic really hasn't lived up to the hype has it?
It was sold as the exclusive home of premium channel shows, old and new, primarily from HBO. It shows premium channel shows, old and new, primarily from HBO. Where's the problem?

So where does FishTown fit in to that? It more a BBC2 afternoon programme than 'premium pay channel'
Its amazing that such a heavily promoted channel like Sky Atlantic gets 0.3% of viewers on channel 108 and Sky2 which is never promoted showing old repeats gets 0.2% way down on channel 129!

I really like Sky Atlantic actually. Game of Thrones, Blue Bloods and Boardwalk Empire are some of the best television shows I've seen in years. But I don't understand why Fish Town is on Sky Atlantic either.
It's interesting to note that most of the negative comments about Sky Atlantic come from VM subscribers.
I'm not particularly loyal to Sky nor do I think Sky Atlantic is all Sky hyped it up to be, but still.
I'm a Virgin subscriber yes, but that's not got anything to do with it. Even if it lived up to it's USP, which it fails to do by a long way, it's not really my sort of thing - I'm not into big American drama series
You are right though, the hype falls a long way short, this was supposed to be a major draw and it's just not worked for some reason
I do think they'd have been better off making it a premium channel with shows uninterupted by ads and packaging it in "Free with Sky Movies" and probably free with Sky Sports too.

It's been a big subscription driver for Sky though, which is the whole purpose of the channel, to offer something only available on the Sky platform to drive subscriptions.
