Not quite sure what to make of the studio from that picture, certainly appears to be larger than the current set up. The desk looks rather odd.

I'll reserve judgement until I see it on air, but I guess the funny looking desk is there to minimise any set change between the Sky Sports News bulletins and Soccer Saturday/Special.

Even with a new studio would that sort of shot ever appear on screen, other than perhaps on Soccer Saturday. I've only seen snippets since it was removed from Freeview, but they never really use wide shots at all do they?

Had a wander round the studio today and have to say they've done an excellent job. If anything the space behind the presenters to the back wall is more shallow than the current studio, and yet with some very clever illusions in the backdrop it looks much more spacious on screen. They were playing with some interesting shots too, so it looks like they're planning on showing the set off a bit. Re the desk - it's the front of it you should look out for. Some other tweaks you'll notice too.

Very impressed with the new set up, the desk in particular actually looks superb on air. The backdrops also work very effectively to make the studio feel bigger.

Although it works as an 'attention drawer' when there is breaking news I am not entirely sold on the idea of having the ticker running on a screen behind the presenters.

Look forward to seeing how they adapt it for Soccer Saturday and how the separate studio for 'Good Morning Sports Fans' looks when it launches in the Autumn.

The new studio looks very nice - quite bright and open. One thing I don't like is the ticker in the background - very distracting.

Also to note, Sky Sports News graphics have had a bit of a tweak today to go with the new set, there hasn't been any radical changes to the overall look, but everything seems to have been redone with new animations and generally a "flashier" feel, if you know what I mean? The sidebar is noticeable different and the ticker appears to be smaller than previously. Also, something called Sky Go is being promoted in and out of programming.

Not new - they've had that since the move to HD.

The backgrounds remind me of the fake BBC News backgrounds, but blue instead of red.
