Not wanting to poop any parties or anything, but didn't TV Forum get threatened with legal action a few years ago by Channel Four after someone posted a similar link to the C4 corporate fonts on their website?

I would have thought that as in this instance, Sky have placed the links in the public domain themselves (the links are only two clicks from the Sky 1 homepage and not behind any password protection), there shouldn't be any trouble.

However, it doesn't mean that anyone has free rights to use them - eg recording music off the radio is possible, but illegal for most purposes.

The Channel 4 stuff was not originally behined a password either, it was freely available on their website in the same way. As soon as they realised other people were using it they password protected that section of the site.

Anyone seen the brand new Sky Movies Showcase ident (not sure if it's specific to Showcase as not watched the other Sky Movies channels yet)

It's currently viewable on Sky Anytime at the beginning of He's Just Not That Into You.

EDIT: Just checked another channel - it's the same ident but cleverly it's a rotation of the camera from one type of movie scene to another, and each channel starts/ends in it's own section of the scene. Kinda hard to explain without a clip of it to show you.

I think that was discussed quite a few pages back IRRC. Very Happy

I do like the new Sky Movies idents. They're lovely.

It's been a long time coming but I think they've finally found a successor to the "Falling Ladies" from the late 90s. Outstanding.

Are there shorter edits or is the full 55s always played out?

Yes, it seems of the same standard as the 'falling ladies' of the early Sky Premier days.

I think that full 55s version is only shown on Showcase/Premiere, whereas the other genre based channels just show part of it relating to their particular theme.

They were more recent than that, 2004ish? The falling lady ident was great though, Sky Movies have a pretty good history of great idents, this new one looks great and is very clever

Nope, 1998-2002.
