Sky Arts... No. Just no. Just stick with the previous ones.

I think they are the same idents, just with the updated logo.

I didn't have Sky Arts before, as it's only just gone into the 'Variety Pack', but I'm sure someone can confirm this.

They cover up the ending with the new logo. It just looks a bit tacky to me.

Sky Arts 1 and 2 in Variety Pack as of 6am (I can now see them) - both DOG-less.

Sky Arts 1 and 2 have always been DOG-less.

Didn't know, never had them before!

Here's the end of Channel One. It went out without so much as a goodbye! Confused

What platform was that on? On Sky the signal was cut off abruptly at the word "Living" at the end of the trailer.

'Sky Living Loves' launched/rebranded rather ignominiously at 3pm.
Arrow There was no EPG information for programmes after 3pm
Arrow No mention of the new name, just a v/o the first ident about a programme on Sky Living
Arrow There was a 'Sky Atlantic' DOG Rolling Eyes
Arrow It was in 'stretchyvision' (although the DOG wasn't)

Wrong DOG & aspect ratio:

Correct (but badly positioned) DOG & aspect ratio:

Almost as bad as Sky Living HD's start at 6am which put out an old-version Livingit ident and then Nothing to Declare in the wrong aspect ratio with black bars on all four sides.

Woo Hoo !!! Not been this excited about a new channel launch since 2 November 1982 Smile.

And what with all the new idents floating around, can't help thinking we're being really spoilt for choice this week.

Enjoy it everybody.

Considering it is supposed to be a 'special' and 'extraordinary' channel I hope the Sky Atlantic presentation has more of a premium feel and style to the Sky 1/Living presentation style.

The Sky1 and Sky2 idents are really nice, however I don't like the way they just slapped the logos on top of the end of them. I find the Sky Atlantic logo is by far the best, and the Living HD ones are decent too. I'm not sure about the Sky1/2/3 logos though. Perhaps they'll grow on me.

Living and Challenge are DOG-less and showing Guinness World Records Smashed instead of what the EPG says they should be (Charmed and Defectors).

Challenge did show an episode of Defectors at around 04:00, 04:30, 05:00 and 05:30. They showed Guinness World Records Smashed inbetween each episode in place of adverts and again at the end of the second episode. The breaks within the programmes themselves just had promos for other Sky channels including Living (not Sky Living). This may well be normal for that time in the morning though.

Er... why? Channel 4 was (and is) a groundbreaking exercise in public service excellence. Sky's little cosy love-in with HBO is a bit dwarfed by C4 in my opinion.

Of course your username gives us a little clue....

Wonder if we'll get a countdown clock into it - just seems to be looped promos at the moment...

I think the launch of Channel 5 was more exciting than this Sky, mostly HBO, during prime time anyway, launch.

It's what I expected, the logos and promos look quite classy, even though they don't seem that imaginative. I noticed the break structures were a bit different on Sky1 HD earlier, the case now being you see a Sky1 breakbumper, promo and then a Sky breakbumper and then into the break, which seems a bit of a time waster.

My big gripe is for Virgin to get Sky Atlantic HD and sort the EPG out, considering 5 channels have disappeared from the high slots of the EPG.

Considering how 'big' Sky are treating this launch, I won't be too happy if it cuts straight to the first show without any build-up.

..and now that it's 8pm, that looks to be the case.

Not sure if this has been said already but it is all well and good moving HD in the EPG but watching the Simpsons in 4:3 on a widescreen TV is quite annoying
