Possibly a little out of place, but as it has already mentioned earlier in the thread, a few shots from Comedy Central regarding the EPG moves:

I think Sky Light would have been a good name for the channel.

Interesting, confirms the keeping the Sky name off Freeview strategy (except Sky News for exposure).

It is interesting - and odd they're dropping one non-Sky name (Channel One) for another.

I know Sky got their space on Freeview as part of the original launch detail, but do we know if that space is theirs indefinitely or is their contract due to run out sooner or later?

I imagine the space is theirs while BSkyB stay as one of the five companies that make up DTV Services.

How did they end up getting a better EPG number? That's very rare

Sky have been doing some trading of their slots after the closure of Bravo/+1/Bravo2 and upcoming closure of Channel One/+1.

Perhaps Sky think it's a better image for their service if they have more popular channels at the top of the entertainment genre, rather than SD/HD versions of their own channels which are already listed once.

I doubt that Sky were giving them away! Wink

As usual, good quarterly results for Sky, average spend is up and HD households are now up to 3.5m.

They have purchased public wi-fi company The Cloud as part of the rebranding of Sky Player and Sky Mobile TV later this year as Sky Anywhere.

I have one of those when I sit and watch tv in the living room. Can get a good reception on non rainy days.

Am I correct in thinking that the channels won't change on non-HD Sky boxes? There's just a channel swap on HD boxes, right?

Pretty much. If you have a Sky+ HD box AND a Sky+ HD subscription it'll change.

Changes are happening across the whole platform - SD and HD. There are some additional changes where some HD channels swap EPG with their HD counterpart which will obviously only happen on HD boxes with an HD subscription.

The Challenge forums are down today (http://www.challenge.co.uk/forums/). I wonder if yesterday was their last day. They haven't had an active moderator for a while and had they had begun to become off-topic. I was hoping they would survive until Challenge appeared on Freeview at least.

Possibly more likely is that the switch to the Flextech MySQL server (view the source code on the error page and you'll see it's looking for 'fttvgpsmysql5.flextech.co.uk') has been flicked off. Flextech.co.uk itself is still active though. Either way, I doubt it'll be fixed, although you'd hope they wont leave the site in the state it is after the Freeview launch. My hunch is the whole site will be dropped, after all Sky 3 doesn't have a site of its own (aside from this). All the other VMTV forums were closed a year or two ago, I get the feeling the only reason the Challenge one lived on was because there was bugger all budget even to take it down.

EDIT: Just found this suggesting it was overdue the chop.
