(Images in public domain via Google)

What does this mean?

The images are from TV-Ark and The TV Room. If you are going to take the time to give credit for the images, why give it to Google?

Probably because that is where he got them from?

Google is like a phone book, it just directs you to where you can find the information you are after.

If I wanted to find the price of a TV in Dixons and I didn't have the phone number I may phone directory enquiries, but I wouldn't credit them for giving me the information I was after.

Anyway, back to the Sky Living channels you have to love that Virgin launched Living HD and kept it from Sky, Sky bought Living and got Living HD, they now launch Living It HD and you can bet Virgin won't get it.

Those images aren't in the public domain either, they're Copyrighted to BSkyB!

In fact, is Living TV Group going to be kept if all of the channels (bar Challenge, for now) are going to be Sky branded? Seems a bit silly having one lot of Sky-branded channels operated by Sky whilst another lot is operated under another name.

Newp - already their website redirects to Sky's.

If, as it appears, that 'Living TV Group' is to be fully incorporated into BSkyB Limited (rather than the plc holding company), then perhaps the delay was for corporation tax reasons.

I'm not sure when the accounting year end date is for each company, but they would need to be realigned for tax purposes: with perhaps the assets of the closed channels being written-off against tax due before they were fully incorporated.

I'm not an accountant, so I'm sure someone has better knowledge of these sorts of things. A company doesn't pay tax if they can avoid it.

No, the reason they weren't fully incorporated was that VM had already sold the advertising time to IDS until January; obviously with that came promises regarding programming and cross-channel promotion leading to the bizarre situation where Bravo programming was being advertised across the LTG channels only days before the channel's demise.

If it had anything to do with tax it would have remained until March/April.

Not sure why anyone would think something was in the 'public domain' - which suggests there is no current, legally-binding copyright in place - because they found it on Google. At the same time, I see no reason it should be necessary to credit a website that doesn't have copyright over the image, even though it is good courtesy.

Well considering that Virgin isn't getting Sky Atlantic in SD let alone HD, then getting Living It HD would be something of a miracle. Which is a shame because Virgin seemed to be making good progress in getting the Sky channels available in HD, we'll have Sky 1HD and Sky Living HD, but no Sky Atlantic, for now anyway.

Seems BT and Virgin aren't going to get Sky Atlantic, at least not for a while.

Hopefully www.challenge.co.uk will get a new look - it's currently stuck in 2002.

No rebrand nor any new programming if this is anything to go by: http://data.skyprogrammeinformation.co.uk/wtv.php?chan=SCHL&week=387

(Although they show an HD version of Defectors going out overnight, mistake methinks!)
