Hmm, I was checking Venture3's website (The designers of the new logo) and there was this odd Sky1 HD Logo.

The new logo was actually designed by Miles Newlyn who designed the previous one, and designed both the old and new corporate typefaces. Venture 3 originally brought in the idea of a glass logo and now seems like they are co-ordinating the branding across the channels/services.

Only the first part before the first break could have been 'live', as some countries showed it without putting in their own breaks. Once the second part started on Sky, it must have been 'off tape'.

Good to see new Sky Arts and Sky 1 logos are planned, now we just need them to launch.

I'd personally like to see Sky1 retain its current logo, not much to change apart from the DOG and promo endboards, plus the one posted does look a bit dull and simple.
Plus there is Sky Travel also as well as Sky's online stuff.

Agreed - the current Sky1 logo is the best they've had in a long time IMO and is very distinctive.

The new one posted above seems a bit bland and unmemorable.

Would be a real shame if Sky 1, 2 and 3 lost their current idents. It looks like it might go that way since the 1 shown here is different...

I wouldn't be too worried, that picture was just more than likely a quick sample, that was uploaded to the site by mistake, the new sky1, 2 and 3 idents I doubt will go since they cost so much to make and so many new ones were made lately

Not all of these quick breaks were even as smooth as the one above (audio sync issues notwithstanding). This was the first attempt a few minutes after 5am...

Also why when they show screen shots of Sky News do they always have straps that have been added after. The one about the Wold Trade Center did not look like that at the time.

Those photos were from last year, but they're definitely worth a flick through, the Sky News one has definitely been recreated, and by the looks of it the Sky Sports.com TV also appears to be a recreation too.

Sky Sports.com TV... that didn't last very long did it?
