Is there really any need for 4Music as an entertainment channel? Don't they already have E4 to cover the younger audiences?
Surely The Vault then has to be categorised as an entertainment channel also? It has more shows than music.
With 4Music being classed as an entertainment channel now will it's schedule change to more programs now/name change? Or will it just be classed as an entertainment channel?
No company will want their channel to go into the overspill section. How will they allocate which channels have to go there?

Interesting that they’re moving 4Music into the entertainment section, they have gained more entertainment reruns (Charmed and Sex And The City), but at the same time they’re separating it from the other Box Plus channels (and slotting it next to another Channel 4 one)

And C4 will have a nice block of channels for its offshoots from 135-139...

4Music is run by The Box Plus Network more now than it was, Channel 4 do still advertise it but I believe the rights have been negotiated by Box Plus rather than Channel 4 acquiring the rights and giving them to show 4Music. The music is played more than shows though.

I personally don’t like this move, especially as it is being put in between the other 4-branded channels, as I class it as a Box Plus channel rather than C4 (even though they still 50% own it, but that’s the case with the other channels).

Sky's EPG for Children's TV: https://www.a516digital.com/2018/03/cbbc-cbeebies-stay-on-lower-sky-slots.html

Despite lobbying for more lucrative slots on the Sky platform, the BBC's two children's channels remain on EPG 613 and 614. Disney Jr has swapped places with Disney XD.

Dilemma: how long to wait to publish the list. Testing the waters at the moment. I know there will be a co-ordinated campaign to raise awareness launching soon, but some broadcasters are more sensitive than others - you may know that publishing advanced details of changes on Sky's own community forum became an issue a while back following objections from broadcasters.

KTV was running a scrolling banner yesterday saying it was moving to 770 from 1st May, so broadcasters are free to advertise their new numbers.

Having seen the full list, it's still a mess and some channels in the 200s will end up in the 400s...

Those must all be smaller channels though - those too small to justify a +1 version - since those channels can't shift their +1s down 100 channels due to that space being otherwise occupied.

Yes, it's "smaller channels".

They broke the embargo on the rebrand of Setanta to eir Sport, and afaik no further details were published after that.

Got the light blue guide today. Not a fan but I suppose I will get used to it.

Sky has confirmed that the full Sky EPG list should not be published. The odd ad-hoc new channel number contained in individual articles are OK [which is almost how I interpreted it anyway].

A Sky spokesperson has confirmed though that 4Music is allocated 139, C4HD is going to go on 138, in a change to the originally issued master EPG list.

Since the EPG changes were first laid out, only a few channels, such as Discovery, Nat Geo, History, Sky Two, 4Music and Talking Pictures have had their new slots revealed.

Looks like a few more EPG changes have been revealed, with slot-trading prevalent in the guide.

Comedy Central Extra shifts up to EPG 127
5Star is moving to EPG 128 (a massive promotion on the EPG)
ITVBe is moving to EPG 131 (predictable considering that 131 is the next highest ITV-owned slot after ITV4 on EPG 120)
TLC moving to EPG 140
The BBC have sold their 141 - 143 slots to Channel 5 and UKTV, where 5USA, Really and Drama are promoted
ITV has sold EPG 149 to Discovery, housing Quest Red
5Spike is moving to EPG 150
Animal Planet is moving to EPG 162
Nat Geo Wild is moving to EPG 165
