Announced here:

It’s something Virgin Media have had for ages, so a good addition.

Incidentally there was also an announcement of a Sky Q update to add Spotify (which you could already run through Sky Q with a Apple device and AirPlay) earlier this week:

Significantly, this means Netflix will now be available on Now TV branded Roku devices, leaving Amazon as the only major streaming service with no presence on there.

Indeed, as Amazon don't play nicely with others it is already absent from Virgin TV, BT TV, TalkTalk TV and YouView where Netflix has been available for ages.

Good to see Sky catching up.

Good to see Sky catching up.

This is nice for SkyQ subscribers; but I am still Sky+HD (with a TV Link to provide the same service to my bedroom).

I don't want SkyQ because they want to charge me £15 a month to supply the service to my bedroom, which I currently get as part of my sub. That is all the "fluidity of vision" I require. I don't need an extra box unless I develop a multiple personality disorder which requires me to have many different programmes playing in different rooms. Shocked

I'll just have to keep paying £9.99 for my Netflix.

Something extra for Sky Q customers.

What about the other 9 million odd Sky customers? I'm sure if they really thought about it, they could have cut a deal to put Netflix original content via Sky On Demand/Sky Go, or even set up linear channel and run it like Sky Atlantic does with HBO content..

.. Or even put some increasing Netflix original content on Sky Atlantic.

Don't think Netflix would have the rights to facilitate putting the content they don't own onto a channel in this way.

That's why I used the words Netflix 'original' content.

Compared to Amazon or HBO, Netflix are behind with the volume of original commissioning, which is why I said it could be used to add content to Sky Atlantic.

Well I can't imagine you'd save too much through the new pack including Netflix...

You still have to pay for Netflix as you normally would to access it through Virgin. I'd be surprised if there's some sort of discount getting it through Sky. What I haven't worked out yet though is if this'll simply involve a Netflix app being available à la YouTube and Vevo, or if the content will somehow be integrated into the On Demand service.

Virgin had an offer of 6 months Netflix subscription for new users of their V6 box... not sure if they still do though.

Having just read the BBC News article, it's cited that the Netflix subscription will be paid through the Sky bill. Makes me wonder if you can only assign one account to one Sky Q system. When you consider there's an unlimited amount of devices you can link to your Netflix account (albeit not at the same time, depending on your subscription) I wonder how that will play out.

BTTV has the single bill option too.
