Slight change of design for Sky Sports F1 today, using the new F1 logo.

I don't believe this logo change occurred today, as I saw it in the Sky Q EPG yesterday whilst checking in the sports section.

Is it not possible that the broadcast outlet and the Sky Q EPG adopted the graphic at different times?

It was spotted on DS on the 9th, so been like that a few days.

That’s an awful logo, to anyone not familiar with F1 seeing that would surely confuse you as to what it was.

I like the greeny black colour for Sky Casino. I assume the apps will update soon enough as they still use the old logos.

As much as the new F1 logo isn't lighting the praises of many, I'm assuming Sky will have wanted to keep the branding up-to-date with what has changed over on the F1 side of things.

Considering the previous F1 logo had been in use since 1993, it kinda needed a change. But I'll be honest, the new logo isn't the best.

Of course, Sky had no choice but to update the Sky Sports F1 logo. But, as PFMC84 said, people who are not aware of F1 would be confused because of the new logo's appearance. And to be fair, I can't blame them.

I don’t think it needed changing at all. It was a very clever and recognisable logo.

Agreed, its a view shared by many F1 fans, but Liberty wanted to signify their new ownership and get away from the Bernie-era...

Plus they want to make some money from fancy new merchandise with the new logo, but with the dispute with 3M over copying, we don't know.

I second this.

That F1 logo was not only iconic, but it was buried deep into the mindshare and recognition of F1 as a whole.

The only problem with the old logo was the ridiculous moiré it gave on interlaced images.
