With sky one why is there only two idents yet four stings?

It's had a few refreshes over the last 8 years since they change the font. The latest flat 2D logo only came in last year. I can't see them drastically changing it any time soon.

Sky One's idents are rather bland, to be honest. It reminds me of a less dynamic version of the 2002-2004 package.

It's changing at a later point.

I think the main problem is: variety
There only are two idents

It's a shame that Sky1's previous idents couldn't have been adapted to 'Sky One' akin to Atlantic & Living. IMO, the Sky1 idents were the best I'd seen on TV. The current ones are just bland!

But again, they're not easily adaptable with "Sky One", especially the ones where the "1" jumps out of Sky1 logo

Sky also wants to be "coherent", and not to have a "1"in the idents, whereas the channel is referred as Sky One elsewhere, and honestly , I can understand it (comparisons with the "2" of BBC Two are just "off")

Even if there were more idents at this stage, it's still a rather bland package. Considering what they just had.

I agree its a shame they couldn't keep or adapt the previous look idents as they were fun and interesting and caught your attention. The new ones just make you go to the kitchen as you think you've forgotten something in the microwave

I guess it would be a bit better with more than 2 idents, and looking at the other stings we have seen it looks like there might still be more to come, but I still think the look will get boring/annoying quite quickly which is a shame.

I was also hoping we'd either see a new set of idents for Sky Atlantic or some new additions at least. The launch look idents for the channel for me were just perfection, so I don't understand why they went from those to the two weird ones we have now.
Also one thing i've never understood is why is one of the idents set in Japan when Atlantic is meant to be about big US and UK dramas?? That's why the launch idents were perfect, they showed the US and UK in perfect comparison

I think I'd like something more 3Dish in the background to be honest, but the concept is rather catchy

The current concept for the idents though is fine, and is hardly "boring" (maybe not as complex as the previous one, but still fine); but it needs more variety, I agree

BTW I think it's a Chinatown in an American city (most likely New York); not Japan, especially as there's no hiragana/katakana in the neon lights, so typical of Japanese, instead
