Worked for years on ITV as World of Sport as opposed to World of Sports.
Still, each to their own.
It sounds wrong with BBC Sport and ITV Sport, but with Sky, Sky Sport sounds wrong, i think its just feels wrong because we are so use to the Sky Sports brand since 1991.

I think Sky Sport sounds wrong it just sounds, it's like they show one type of sport, it sounds right with Sky Sports.

Luckily not so well aligned that they have had the ridiculous "Sky Sports News HQ HD" name forced on them
Sky Sport News HD in Germany and Sky Sport 24 in Italy have now been aligned with SSN in the UK.

Note how Sky Sport 24 is due to Sky TG24, Sky Italia's news channel
If they were to launch these channels now I think they would've called them Sky News and Sky Sport News though
But yeah, I think Sky Sports News HQ should definitely revert back to simply being Sky Sport News.. what a big letdown was that
BTW now Sky Sport Italian DOGs are the same as the British ones too, but without the "numbers", just a common "Sky Sport" except for F1 and Mix (just how it used to be before, really)
Meanwhile, Sky Sport Germany has them coloured and solid
Now, next to "refresh" in Italy, and to get the British treatment should be Sky Uno (probably becoming Sky1), Sky Atlantic, Sky Arte and Sky Cinema
Sky TG24 was rebranded already

I notice "HQ" appears at 4 seconds despite not appearing in the final logo.
. . . except for the unnecessary plural in the channel descriptor.
If Sky can change Sky Movies to Sky Cinema, then I'm sure they can change Sky Sports to Sky Sport.
Did you complain at school when you had to do Sports Day and not Sport Day?

Heute ist es endlich soweit! Die neue Bundesliga-Saison startet und auch bei uns im Studio ist einiges neu. #ssnhdhttps://t.co/XC8Dh5sZID

Sky Sports News Germany dont really have the studio to pull the look off, it worked fine with their old look as it was darkier and edgier before, I know they are all Sky but whats the point in getting the brand looking the same when they are serving different countries.

Is it me or are Sky trying to devalue the operations before it gets taken over by 21st Century Fox. We might blame the footy rights for this.
They have slimmed down the Sky News operation with newscasters leaving/redundant and the switch to the new studios . They have dropped many third party channel operators from the Sky's pay line up like PBS America, TV5Monde, The Box music channels and some of UKTV Freeview channels. I think that maybe why more of the UKTV pay channels have or may join Freeview.
From what I've seen from Edinburgh International Television Festival, Sky was in the sidelines which made me think they might be working on major revamp of Sky 1 schedules to become a serious competitor to BBC One and ITV.
