Thomson did have network ports, Sky never switched them on.
The boxes were dog slow and only had on-"demand" over satellite. i.e. box records stuff overnight.
Wasnt this the box with a component out, I think some took advantage of this and recorded content to a capture card and onto an extenal hard drive, later boxes of course dont have this.

it didn't have a network port
on it which may have had something to do with it. Presumably it had some stuff pushed to it over the air via Showcase, but had no way of getting anything else as it couldn't talk to the outside world.
The Pace and Samsung boxes are listed as on demand capable.
