An updated Sky Living logo has appeared on The Blacklist sponsorship stings. The 'Living' text has now been updated and uses the standard Sky font, dropping the custom font that retained the custom 'V' and 'G' from the the days of Virgin Media. As with all the Sky channels in UK and Germany, every channel has two logos a print version for online and the beginning of trailers and a 3D logo for idents. There is now an inconsistency in Sky Livings branding: the new Sky Europe print logo uses smaller text and standardised font, yet the new Sky Living 3D logo uses the old font and larger text. To add to this the logo used on, stings, idents and the beginning of trailers still uses the old style logo from 2011 rebrand.

New 3D Logo (Still uses old font and large font size)

Old Print Logo still used at the beginnings of trailers

This trailer for The Tunnel uses the old print Atlantic logo and the new 3D logo on the endboard. Hopefully the new Sky Europe branding will be complete soon, the transition period really has been a mess.

Probably not surprising but the simulcasts of Sunrise on Sky1 have disappeared from this week. This run didn't last very long.

There wasn't really much point, it just looked like a cost saving measure.

Yeah, why did they do that in the first place? Sky News is on Freeview and therefore more widely available than Sky 1 is.

Probably more to do with EPG placement than availability of Sky News. There's some logic behind having Sunrise on the first page of the EPG with Breakfast and Good Morning Britain, rather than buried in the News sections.

As explained by our resident Sky, well, geek!

Apparently, Sky Kids has its own page on Sky's website (not to be confused with the old magazine) and in the URL, there's "channel".
Does this mean Sky Kids is going to be a channel? It could be TCC 2. But I don't think they'll do that.

It's just an app. The programmes it links to are on Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr, Cbeebies (pointless IMHO, because that channel's shows are on BBC iPlayer) and Cartoon Network. They don't themselves have the rights to enough kids shows to make a channel. There's no US counterpart to call upon.

Sky have always had a 50% stake in Nickelodeon UK, and Comedy Central for that matter. For Sky's sake it's easier to put kids on demand under one banner than set up a new channel.

I believe a new series of Morph is being produced for Sky by Aardman though.

Yes but not for transmission AIUI, appears to be exclusively for Sky Kids:

Morph’s co-creator Peter (Captain) Lord has exciting news for all Morph fans – there will be some brand new Morph episodes created for Sky Kids, which will be available on the new Sky Kids app and Sky+, Sky Go and Sky Q available later in the year. Plus we have polished up some more classic clips which we’ll share on Morph’s YouTube channel

I suspect that a lot of the older kids channels (but not those aimed at pre-schoolers) will move to an on demand existence over the next decade or so. My older nieces and nephews prefer to watch that way.

Nick's ownership is irrelevant. Nick shows are on Nick, the point was, they don't have enough shows to launch a new channel called Sky Kids - they obviously couldn't take things away from Nickelodeon. They haven't had enough shows for a Sky branded kids channel since 1996 in fact, when Sky One had to end it's Undun block due to the launch of Fox Kids, which took the majority of their children's lineup.
