Worth noting that the new Sky Italia logos are the same style as the new Sky Arts UK logo, the beginning of a new standardised look for all the Sky channels in Europe?

Wonder if any of the UK channels will go the opposite way and fall into line with the Europeans...

Perhaps Sky1 will revert to Sky One like Sky Uno in Italy use the same graphics. Anything would be an improvement over what is used now on the UK version.

No. I definitely don't want to see that at all. Sky 1 is still a good brand.

Probably more likely Sky Uno will rebrand to Sky1. Sky Uno is the only Sky channel that doesn't use a digit to represent the numeral in its logo.

Full list of the sports channels here Michael. Six of them are currently being used for Wimbledon. 8 to 13 currently not in use.

After 5 years of continuity announcers on Sky1 referring to the channel only as 'Sky 1 HD', it appears they have now switched back to 'Sky1'. Never liked how they always attached HD on to the end of everything. Sky Sports stopped using 'HD' in its name back in 2014 when Sky Sports 5 launched and Sky Arts did the same when Sky Arts 2 closed. Not sure if Sky Living and Atlantic are still being called Living HD / Atlantic HD.

I can't see the point of having HD on the end of names now, even in the channel name. They should mark the SD version with "SD" at the end, but no extra logos. If they must.

People can tell if something is in HD via the EPG, and if they have Sky HD why do they need to be told its in HD. Seems stupid to me.

The point is that Sky still charge more for the HD versions of their channels.

Only for movies or sports, or both.

The standard (original) Sky sub now includes HD Sky Atlantic HD etc, if you want HD Movies or Sport, you have to pay extra.

Or some extra entertainment/doc channels you have to pay more.

No, it doesn't. You need to pay for the Family bundle to get non-FTA HD channels.
