I never said it was a waste of a thread! I said I couldn't believe that such a minor change (and yes it is just a tweak) has generated so many posts... even by TV Forum standards

After 10 years the whole brand is changing, main logo, channel logos, new typefaces...

If this was the BBC or ITV, I think you wouldnt think it minor. After 10 years of the sky brand, any change is news worthy, well TVF Worthy!

New Sky Movies logo?

Just fired up my Xbox360 and was presented with a Sky Movies ad under the Spotlight tab. Apologies for the piss poor quality of the image (crap camera) but this looks like the new Sky Movies logo to me...

Now things are starting to get moving. I wonder if it will be a straight logo replacement on the idents, or if the idents and branding with lights will be changing.

We did see them adapt the idents for sky in germany...

Well that's definitely a completely different Sky Movies logo... Looks like the rebrand is gathering momentum.

Indeed it does, although perhaps we should first let the Inspector decide whether this latest development is a mere tweak or a full-on hardcore rebrand before continuing our discussion. Wink

I think the new Sky Movies logo looks a bit Americanised.. I like it.

It's looking good, follows a similar technique as Sky Arts

Looks like the font Gotham, with a modified M of course. That would be why you get an American vibe from it, Gotham is a font design based on New York Architecture in the 1930's

I like it a lot. Wonder how the 'HD' will fit on the end?

Should this not now be in a different thread? 'Sky's Rebrand' ? lol

I think it works quite nicely with the current set of idents:

Hello everyone. This rebrand by Sky looks interesting, and it looks like the 'S' in Movies looks like the 'S' in Sky. May be its part of the new Sky typeface?
