I'd be surprised if Sky haven't gone for the .sky top level domain
How wqould that work though as a web address? www.sky.sky? Too confusing and looks weird.

tv.sky for TV services, web.sky for ISP, news.sky for news sites etc

What's wrong with just plain old www.sky as an address?

I imagine he's busy thinking about the potential of a boogie beebies appearance at the end of tonight's CiN.

Have Sky started running regional adverts on Sky 1? I know they've had seperates adverts in Ireland for a number of years now, but I've noticed in the last few days that there have been some specific adverts for North West england, have they got an ITV or C4/C5 structure of a few regions?

Anything to do with Sky AdSmart?

There's no problem with it as a www address, but with e-mails it's about differentiating between staff and customers. For example joe.blogs@sky.com could be either

As AxG says, this will be AdSmart.

Looking at just the technical aspects of it, AdSmart is seamless, the only way you can tell you are seeing an AdSmart ad is it's from an advertiser who you wouldn't normally see on a channel like Sky 1.

That's quite neat actually. I see from the FAQs postcode targeting is a future option, presumably from where Sky have been told their viewing cards/boxes are installed (but of course there's nothing stopping you taking it and using it elsewhere... allegedly).

I notice the list of channels that use this technology are mostly Sky channels and two of them are also carried on Freeview as well. Presumably a national or sub-regional advert would air in place of an AdSmart one on the Freeview feeds?

They could keep broadband customers on sky.com and move staff to either xxx@staff.sky, or potentially even xxx@sky

I thought it was something like that, as you say the transition is seamless, the adverts I noticed in question were for Clas Ohslon promoting their Manchester store and an advert for a production at The Lowry in Salford, again something you wouldn't see on Sky 1, let alone on ITV at the best of times.
