I seriously think Sky need to look at it's branding package I've seen Sly Deutschland do better and Sky italia, Sky Sports News HD could be so much better and innovative in terms of its graphics like ESPN Sportscenter in the US or Star Power in India, Sky need to start doing this.

Do they actually have any operational link to the European companies using the Sky name? I was under the impression that they are wholly-owned by Murdoch and license the Sky name from BSkyB?

I have similar recollections. I don't think they are that closely related - other than in name (and they are able to use a common brand should they wish)

Sorry if it's been mentioned, but I've just saw that "The Simpsons" is due to air on Sky 1 +1. I know they didn't use to air it on +1, how long has it been like this or is it to coincide with the premiere of Season 25 (tomorrow at 8pm)

Does this mean they've renegotiated rights to show it on On Demand and streaming services too then?

Whilst the Simpsons is shown on NOW TV and Sky1+1, there aren't any episodes available through On Demand.

That would be the case but sky deutschlands sky sports news hd is so much better presentation wise.

In that case, surely it's no more relevant than me saying GSN's presentation is so much better than Challenge's (not something I believe, by the way).

What I am saying is other providers on the continent and overseas have more dynamic presentation and idents sky in the uk need to look at espn Sportscenter and see how they present the news they are not always at the desk the titles and graphics are really strong and they don't keep on changing and chopping their graphics. If I can I'll try find some sky Deutschland caps from their sky sports channel and you'll see what I mean!

Further to a post earlier, there was a *very* lengthy Sky2-plugging trailer during a break on Sky Sports earlier, featuring 4-5 programmes "Brand New to Sky2".

Finally decided to do something with it worth shouting about?

They never seem to have a clue what to do with it. One minute it's a channel that is worthy being promoted, showing new episodes of The Simpsons for example, the next it's just a place to test out things like Sky1+1.

Not only does there seem to be a lack of new idents on Sky1, very little new promos too. There were no promos for return of The Simpsons yesterday or for either of Sky's home-grown travel series Twin Towns and Never Left Britain. It seems the majority of promos are now for Sky Sports or Sky Movies. And any promotion for Sky1,Living shows are full length 1 minute trailers. (Sky1 - 24 and Sky Living - Trying Again) Quite disappointing to see how bad Sky Presentation has deteriorated over the last few years.
Comedy Central has too be the best channel for promos - the promos are very creative and updated weekly unlike Sky which just seem to promote the first episode and then next promotion will be a year later for the premier of the next series.

Sky Go seems to have a new logo, on air at least can't find it online. It's simply a white play button on top of a half blue, half green background.
