I would have thought especially with shows like The Simpsons that the contracts are long term, currently IIRC at the moment neither Channel 4 or Sky One has On Demand rights to that show, nor can they broadcast it on Sky1 via Sky Go or NOW TV.

Sky One doesn't appear to have rights to show Simpsons on Sky1+1. Yet Channel 4 appear to be fine on their +1 service, even for the same episodes that can't, for whatever reason, be +1'ed on Sky1.

If FOX or 21st Century Fox were serious about putting their shows on an on demand service behind a paywall in the UK I do think they would have done it by now.

As do I think. American Dad/Family Guy not being on demand may also have something to do with Fox TV, as 4oD doesn't have The Cleveland Show either.

Presumably they have to wait until the current contract is up so they can negotiate the +1 rights, if you remember when ITV3 +1 and ITV4 +1 launched a lot of programming couldn't be shown and had to be replaced with static apology slides. Did Channel 4 +1 show The Simpsons from launch?

Yepp. I think Sky were annoyed about it because it meant they were in some ways competing at 7.

American Dad has started showing up on Demand - it's available on FOX UK's catch-up service. Maybe The Simpsons and Family Guy won't be too far behind now.

Sky Italia getting ready to launch their equivalent of NowTV in the coming weeks, it's called Sky Online - big emphasis on not needing a satellite dish or a monthly contract.

Apparently Pick TV was originally going to be called 'Mix'

Video from Sky Creative's Zehra Ali Faik - creator of the 2011 Pick TV branding:

So it would have been renamed back to old Sky two channel name?

Sky have today released further details about the EPG change which should soon start rolling out to Sky+HD STBs.

It includes the new home page, slightly different graphics for the TV Guide and Catch-Up TV services and a 'New Series' section.

'New Series' section.

Which will be rendered useless by Sky putting "New:" in front of loads of their programmes whether they are new or 30+ years old.
