I agree, Satidents. They would be much better than the ones we currently have in the UK.
The graphics going on in the background remind me of the second Sky Onc era idents (2008) . . .

As part of their Q2 financial results, Sky released some details about a change to their EPG which are expected to be released in Spring this year.

The emphasis appears to be on allowing quicker access to the non-linear choices available. as well as emphasising the new search functionality released late last year for Sky+HD boxes.
Articles available on DigitalSpy and Techradar.

Got one of those ridiculous surveys from Sky today. This question might be of interest. I thought the idea of merging the two Sky Arts channels has been discussed on here before but I can't find anything now.
I'm not sure how this makes me feel. Probably indifference.
Another question was "How Important is having the following channels as part of your current Sky subscription?" they then listed some channels including BBC Four.
Quote:
Sky is thinking of making a few changes to Sky Arts. They are looking to bring together Sky Arts 1 and Sky Arts 2 to create one Arts super channel.
The new channel will have all the great shows from both the Sky Arts 1 and Sky Arts 2 channels. So from Sky Arts 1 shows like The South Bank Show, rock concerts, foreign dramas, music talk shows, documentaries and short plays (series like Playhouse Presents, A Young Doctor's Notebook) and from Sky Arts 2 programmes like Andre Rieu, Katherine Jenkins, Il Divo, Auction, opera and ballet.
This will mean less repeats. Shows could be arranged together within genres and given their own dedicated times and nights. For example, there could be a Classical night, a popular rock night, a Foreign Drama night, a Documentaries night and so on. The performances (opera, ballet, classical music) will still be shown but only on certain days during peak time with repeat showings in the mornings or early afternoons or available on Sky’s On Demand service.
How does this proposed change make you feel?

It's only a matter of time until Sky Arts 2, Sky2, and Sky Livingit are closed. Sister/repeat channels aren't needed with On Demand. Sky2 will probably last the longest since Sky1 primetime will continue to be busy showing 5 episodes of The Simpsons each night until On Demand rights are secured.

The slots are going to be more valuable to SKY if they let another broadcaster buy it than using it themselves

I've never understood why neither Sky nor Channel 4 have The Simpsons on demand. Most other shows are available, so why not that?

Probably because they don't have the rights it's the same with Family Guy and American Dad on the BBC.
Perhaps future deals will include these, or perhaps Fox are reluctant to give them away.

I don't agree that they'll go any time soon, as most the viewing is probably stuff the viewer finds just browsing through.
They're very cheap to run, so as long as they are still picking up enough viewers to keep the advertisers happy they'll remain on air.

I would have thought especially with shows like The Simpsons that the contracts are long term, currently IIRC at the moment neither Channel 4 or Sky One has On Demand rights to that show, nor can they broadcast it on Sky1 via Sky Go or NOW TV. If FOX or 21st Century Fox were serious about putting their shows on an on demand service behind a paywall in the UK I do think they would have done it by now, in the US lots of their shows are on Hulu and Netflix, yet Netflix UK has near enough no FOX material.
