Oh, so they're going for the BBC2 method of bastrdisation now.

We must be looking at the worst set of Sky channel idents surely? It's certainly doing wonders for the credibility of the Chrome 1s and even the ultra sh!te lifestyleeee stuff from '99.


I wonder how long it takes to produce each ident? I wouldn't think more than a few hours for each, and that's being generous.

It's usually MAN U and MAN C.


I think with it being so blatantly obvious that it's a Manchester derby that to save confusion of a single letter, it'd be clearer to display them as CITY and UTD.

Can't imagine how it would take any more than 15 minutes. It's just a case of trail/promo clips, logo on top. No logo effect, no film effect. Add generic track.

The Stella ident has to be the worst, its not in HD and it uses the Restraunt idents music complete with voices and laughter sound effects which they tried to disguise as dogs barking. Surely they could have found a clean version.

Didn't it use the "generic" music from former idents such as the swimming pool one?

Yes it used the music from the chrome 1 - restraunt ident

Two more Sky1 idents were introduced yesterday, both for the new Sky series 'Starlings'

Sky1's DOG seems to have been reduced in intensity again (and continues to only appear for 5-10 seconds after breaks).

Wish others would follow Sky's policy.

I prefer the UK version of the Sky Atlantic. Idents, music, logo - all much better over here.

Unfortunately it now appears to be back within 16:9 safe area, whereas before it was tucked away so close to the edge of the screen you really had to go out of your way to notice it (if were of a mind to view it).
