My Sky+ box broke down because of the Stella problems. Stella failed and Hustle said it clashed. For some reason it kept recording both of them throughout the night until I unplugged the box in the morning. I wonder if that's an issue with my box, or a problem because Stella failed and was replaced by the Simpsons?
Did anyone find out what was wrong? Watching on Sky 1 SD, the cut where they left Stella appeared to have a quick frame roll, suggesting that it was not being done on the Pres mixer.
I've just watched the affected episode on a friend's Sky HD box, and there were some sound problems on HD too, but nowhere near as drastic as the total loss that SD had. Then, a period of black, followed by The Simpsons. (or perhaps I should call it The Trumpingtons, if C4 are still carrying on that
hilarious
(not) game of theirs??)
No explanations or apologies, which is odd. As far as I know, Sky 1 has - or certainly used to have - a live announcer and a dedicated operator. Did they lose the Pres suite altogether?
There was a live announcement after The Simpsons on SD telling us that Stella would be on again the following day. I wonder if they would have abandoned the programme if it had been fine on SD and soundless on HD instead.
Did anyone try switching to the second (AD) sound track on SD?
