Pick TV is to showcase some of Sky's premium entertainment content once a week from 24th January for 12 weeks. In what sounds like Sky's answer to "Orange Wednesdays", Sky Thursdays will offer selected episodes of some of Sky's most popular programmes, usually only available on its pay TV channels.

Looks like Game of Thrones is getting a full rerun - the first three episodes are scheduled anyway over the next few weeks, with Stella also scheduled for two weeks. This week they show the pilot of Elementary, which as a new show that is all Pick TV viewers are getting for now.

The Bradley Wiggins documentary also gets an outing next week at 7.30pm. Elementary is at 9pm and Game of Thrones at 10pm.

The following week Spy airs at 7.30pm, Touch at 8pm and Stella at 9pm before Game of Thrones at 10pm - with the same schedule the next week so presumably they're all getting full reruns.

Since when? The article states "There is no indication that the full set of episodes for any of these programmes will air on Pick TV, with Game of Thrones set to end on Pick TV after episode 3 on the 7th February 2013."

I am surprised Trollied isn't in the schedule though as it's supposed to be quite good.

Ah, Digiguide only went so far - and though I clicked the link I obviously skipped over the important info! If they're showing limited runs don't really get the point in showing 2-3 episodes rather than just the one - people will more likely get pissed off by such tactics than opt to join Sky having realised episode 4 isn't on Pick TV, only to find that Sky aren't airing it either and are instead on Series 3.

IMO a full rerun of the first series of Game of Thrones is more likely to get people to join Sky than showing a bit of that, a bit of the Borgias and a bit of Mad Dogs.

Show your working.

As I see it, the point is to show enough to get people hooked, then hope that'll translate in to a Sky sale (they'd be smart to allow a couple of weeks between episode 3 airing on PickTV and episode 4 airing on Sky Atlantic).

Isn't Game of Thrones on On Demand at the moment? At least, it was in December. That way someone signing up to Sky now could straight away watch the first and second series.

Not showing full series is silly. Disappointed.

Because if people see a full series on Pick TV they'll think about other series they're missing out on and future series of what they've enjoyed - but just show a couple of episodes and people will simply see straight through Sky's tactics and not fall for it.

If they started showing full series then surely people would just think they can wait for a series to be shown on Pick TV rather than paying to watch it on Sky?

Precisely what I would have said.

Won't they do exactly the same though with just a couple of episodes - wait in the hope that one day they'll show the rest, or just be indifferent as they're not quite hooked enough to care what happens next (and if they are, it's far cheaper to buy the DVD).
