After four months on air, it seems Sky Three is now officially on Freeview.

The EPG name has finally been changed from Sky Travel, while Sky are now running ads for Sky Three with the tagline "Now on Freeview Channel 11" - as if it hadn't been before!

Also, the latest Freeview EPG update has seen Xtraview gone from channel 36, with Top Up Active appearing on 107.

Xtraview said it was revamping it's service! Lying sh*ts. It was never worth it anyway.

Thanks for the info by the way. I'm glad they've finally got Sky Three's name right.

I think there is a need for better shows on SKY 3 less travel and more from the usa.

Still alot of travel programmes during the day but I think Sky Three in the evenings is now doing what it should be doing - showing alot of Sky One programmes that non-Sky viewers won't have seen before such as Hex, Brainiac, Fear Factor and Dream Team - plus unseen US imports such as 24 and Las Vegas.

Sky are now holding on to the free to view rights to their US imports too, meaning it's likely shows like Nip Tuck will appear on the station at some point.

It's what happens in the long term that matters more - the likes of ABC1, Men and Motors and FTN have all began by screening programmes that are new to Freeview viewers - but very quickly they begin repeating the same series over and over again and the channel deteriates and eventually the quiz channels take over their schedules!

Nip Tuck will not appear on Sky Three as Channel 4 hold the rights to this. Sky do not hold all of the terrestrial rights for every programme they broadcast, it depends how the rights are sold to Sky by the US networks.

C4 only held the terrestrial FTA rights for season 1. They have since sold the licence to Sky and since season 2 Sky have had FULL rights for the series.

I think Sky now own the FTA for Futurama, which is now appearing on Sky Three on a regular basis, since Sky Three have started showing it, I haven't seen it on Channel 4, plus the Sky Three episodes tend to be from a different series compared to the ones they show regularly on Sky One and Sky Two.

Don't hold out for The Simpsons though, Channel 4 have the FTA right, plus some reason or another they cannot show The Simpsons on Sky Two, it is exclusive to Sky One in terms of Pay TV, but every other Sky show gets repeated on Two, but if The Simpsons went on Sky Three, then they'd lose Sky One's USP.

Is there any harm in the odd Simpsons episode?

It's not exactly scheduled on a regular basis, unfortunately - its only outing this week will be on Sunday for a double-bill mid-afternoon. They really should exploit this show for all it's worth if they are able to air it on Sky Three - why not put it on weeknights at 7? They could drum up a bit of publicity and I'm sure it could do better than what's currently there. That's the trouble with this channel, you never know when to catch things. I suppose it is meant to be the "poor cousin" of Sky One but it's not a great advert for getting Sky.

T4 were showing Futurama up until quite recently - and Sky Three were at the same time - I came to the conclusion that perhaps they have rights to different seasons... But on one sunday they both showed episodes from the same season, so that blew that theory out of the water!

I think now that Channel 4 have shown every season , other broadcasters are allowed to broadcast the show. Channel 4 probably had exclusive terrestrial rights for the first run only. Similar deals have been done with Scrubs, which is now shown on Sky 1, Paramount, abc1, E4 and Channel 4.

I don't know what you're talking about!
Futurama is showing EVERY Tuesday at 8pm THEN repeated on Sunday afternoons. Plus, they don't move (pirmetime) shows around. Hex, 4400, 24, Brainiac, Cold Case, Tru Calling etc have all been airing at 9pm. Rolling Eyes
