I don't understand that caption.

Could someone explain to me what the problem was?

Re: Sky Travel - it was on air this afternoon, but I think Freeview ch 11 had a preview of Sky Three from 4pm (according to the EPG anyway!).

Question re: Live at Five - did they show the opening ident Sky News use (walking round the studio shots) or just begin with Jeremy Thompson in the studio.

As for Sky News being on Sky Three - I do think that's right to be honest, it is a showcase channel for Sky, so Sky News should be part of it's schedule. And as I've said before, believe it or not there are some viewers who would watch a "scheduled" bulletin on a channel like Sky Three that wouldn't watch rolling news on Sky News. I think Sunrise in the mornings (even if just an hour) wouldn't be bad either!

Elsewhere I'd like to see some scheduling blocks (say one night a week) of like "Sky Sports on Sky Three", or Sky Movies, Sky One etc. using archive programming from the channels on Sky Three - or in the case of Sky Movies and Sky Sports some current magazine type programmes which don't affect the rights Sky Movies/Sports have.

It'll be interesting what happens when they are in the middle of breaking news, if Sky News still bother with that, when it gets to 5pm.

They'll be the same problems that everyone has so often complained about with the ITV News Channel ITV1 bulletins

They cut straight from the Sky Three ident ("softest-of-soft" launch announcement) straight to JT with the headlines - although it may be different tomorrow....we'll have to wait and see. Surprised

I hope someone has caps, I've got it recorded on Sky+, but have no TV capture capability. Rolling Eyes

Our Freeview EPG was displaying Sky Three Preview from 16:00 Until 17:00, but I put Sky Travel on at 4.50pm and got Floyd In Spain (which was rather odd near the end where they were cooking loads of crap outdoors!), then just a normal junction, a half second of the Sky Travel ident, then a nice flip to Sky Three.

Sky Three it appears won't be on NTL for the time being, but what are you missing new? Nothing, it's all on Sky One and Sky Two anyway.

If you're that desperate, I'm sure getting a £30 STB from Asda (or somewhere cheap) isn't much of a problem to view a repeat on a new channel. Rolling Eyes

Ha ha, second programme, and they have a breakdown. This has to be contender for biggest channel launch disaster on record.

I think BBC 2 has that one covered. Smile

Weirdly, I'm getting the channel upgrade screen on Sky Three despite having the top package.

Lol I agree from what I have seen in the archives of BBC2's launch, but that failure was hardly their fault; even with their own generators no one could watch cos the power was off through most of the capital Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy (and btw it's well before my time and probably most others on here Shocked you old codger) hehe! - only joking!

I tak it you haven't bothered to read any of this thread first before asking the question.?

From memory the first post in this topic is a quote from the Media Guardian which probably gives a fairly good description.
