Shoddy launch. Bad awkward switching from a Sky Travel Ident into a Sky Three one before immediatly switching to a Sky News feed - even the ads were the same on both channels. Now the first proper programme is delayed by 6 minutes with nothing but a black screen and a DOG. Plus the EPG still says Sky Travel and advertised a Sky Three Preview which we never saw on Freeview (no capital V Charlie) and an endboard which advertises a Sky One URL.
BBC must be laughing so hard, and ITV must be making sure their launch tomorrow will be less ignominious. Which remains to be seen.

Always expect a few kinks for a new launch. What were people expecting, a countdown, live launch party, its just a free channel replacing sky travel, big deal!
I dont think BBC or ITV would be laughing, at least it launched when it said it should, (chuckles ITV4 on M&M launch night, and ITV News channel 12 hours a day!)

So did Sky Travel actually run on Freeview channel 11 up to the 5pm launch of Sky Three? I would have expected them to just run the promos on that channel same as on DSat.
PS: Cerulean, stop stealing my "ignominious" adjectives - I don't have many in my vocabulary

Successful channel launches that come to mind: BBC Three, BBC Four, BBC News 24..... two of which took over from Choice and Knowledge much in the same way Sky 3 took over from Travel on Freeview. With the technical capabilities and expertise available to Murdoch and his footsoldiers I find the events of this evening on DTT channel 11 purely comedic and pathetic.
Tomorrow night will be interesting. I assume the ITVN channel will disappear at 17.59 followed by a caption. ITV4 will launch with bu99er all ceremony either.

Yep - and BBCi still has Sky Travel listings in its TV listings section. No mention of Sky Three anywhere.
Sorry Stu....I know Plymouth isn't that hospitable a place but at least it has a WH Smith - try buying a thesaurus.

Well, with "Little Jimmy" running BSkyB, and "Daddy" running the main shareholder there is little doubt that strategy is discussed round the table over the roast during Sunday Lunch!
No listing in RT for DCab at all, only Freeview and DSat.
