I think the simulcast of Sky News on Three is indicative of how Sky view the channel. It's just a taster service for Sky Digital.

It's a bit like chopping a sweet in half, giving it to a child, and saying ''if you like it, give me some money and you can have the rest of it''. They're just trying to attract the audience across to existing Sky channels on Freeview (Sky News mostly) and over to Sky One. I'd bet that around 60% of the promos on the channel will be for stuff on Sky One.

Can you blaim them though? Its a business move, and it does offer more variety than Sky Travel does, so win win for freeview and sky?

I imagine Sky three will be quite a serious toned channel. The promo running, even though its generic sky digital stuff, is quite arty and serious in comparison to their other promotional stuff.

Sky two has been renamed???

I think you're getting confused. Sky Two is the new channel name. Sky Mix (formerly Sky One Mix) has been renamed to Sky Two.

Yes, and they have used a version of the music that was running during the previews. Does anyone know what it is - I quite liked it! Smile Smile

My Freeview EPG is still saying "Sky Travel" despite just doing a rescan. Presumably it'll take a while for it to be updated.

That was fast Martin.....and many thanks!

That must have been the "softest" launch ever - not even a "hello and welcome to Sky Three".

Even ITV3 mentioned that it was a new channel joining the "ITV Family", and that was supposed to be a soft launch too. They've been beaten by Sky on this one. Let's see what happens tomorrow with ITV4 Smile

I like the fact the channels have their own colour, Sky One and Sky Two are the same except for the blue and yellow of the logos, where as three has one single colour scheme AFAIK which is cold grey and pink.
