In a word yes! The channel can't rely on a handful of US dramas and then expect us to get excited that we can see them again on another channel! Half the time all they show during peak time is wall to wall Simpsons.

I can't see Sky Three being wall to wall Simpsons, as Channel 4 have the free to air rights for that.

Well we certainly can look forward to that.

I'm more concerned there's no Sky Two.

And don't say it's Sky Mix....that's NOT called Sky Two. Why Sky Three ? Why not the Sky channel? Or Sky Mix Freeview?

Am I missing something?

...well the article says that Sky Mix will rebrand as Sky Two when Sky Three launches, so I suppose you are.

Sky Mix is to be rebranded as Sky Two, but its programming will likely remain the same i.e. repeats of Sky One shows sometime in the next week.

If I was Sky I wouldn't call it Sky One/Two or Three - call it Channel Six. Plant the idea in people's minds that this is, in effect, the sixth terrestrial channel. Show a Sky News bulletin - a good mix of programming, films, sport etc. Make it a really good channel - watch the ad revenuse rise.

Well there's not much point with terrestrial being switched off in a few years, is there?

Plus how would they re-name three seperate channels to Channel 6? Channel 6 Extra? Channel 6 3?

Also Sky already have the areas you mention you'd like to see on the channel with their other channels - if you want news, watch Sky News, if you want films, watch Sky Movies or Box Office, if you want sports, watch Sky Sports. Sky One, Two and Three are Entertainment channels.

Oh, that's easy.

Channel 6, E6 and More 6.

That makes no sense whatsoever. ANALOGUE terrestrial broadcasts will end in a few years, but digital terrestrial broadcasts will continue.

No. He means that Sky's new terrestrial channel should be called 'Channel 6', and the sky brand should be reserved for sky's satellite channels. I presume his line of thought was that having a channel named Sky 3 without Sky 1 and 2 on the same platform might seem a bit strange.

Will Sky be able to show Star Trek repeats on Freeview? I do miss watching random episodes since BBC Two gave up on them.
