No - it was 2015 that SSF1 was black flagged for the darts.
2016 I'm sure it was either Sky Sports 4 or 5 that was rebranded Sky Sports Darts.
The F1 channel is the easiest to switch. Most F1 petrol heads (waves) have seen all the races and highlights from this season. There is very little another season review highlights show could add, that we haven't seen.
The sport all but shuts down for a couple of weeks over Christmas, so there is little to report on.

Easiest to switch in terms of content but darts fans won't necessarily have subscribed to SSF1 so unless they engineer it to give it free to Arena & Action subscribers, they will be putting it on one of those instead.

But that brings another set of problems.
Is it right that F1 customers gets a sport that is normally on action or arena for free even if they don't have it if so how is it fair other people have to pay for it and they don't?
How are people who are subscribed to just the F1 channel @ £10 per month that is no longer on air compensated because they're paying for something that is off air.
How are people who have a two or three channel pack bundle including F1 and the Action/Arena Pack compensated bearing in mind one of their channels they are paying for is no longer running?
How are those who have a two or three channel pack bundle including now non active F1 but not action/arena compensated?
Whatever they do they have problems and repercussions for the packages, billing, contracts, and access. The only real way of resolving it without someone losing out is to start a whole new channel.
It'll have to replace action/arena and the Sky Q customers without box sets will have to lose out I reckon, they have always been the fall gays when push has come to shove since the relaunch.
The whole thing illustrates the stupidity of the system and if it is going to work it needs at least one more general sport channel at the very least to be properly functioning.

I suspect if they use Sky Sports F1 then those who subscribe only to Action/Arena would get it thrown in and SSF1 customers would continue to get it. A valid point about them losing a channel but they're effectively subscribing to a channel for three months with no content anyway, so substituting it with something else for a couple of weeks could be seen as a bonus.

So if that's a case they should see a price decrease?
But what about the customers who are subscribed to both Action/Arena and F1? or Action/Arena, F1 and something else?
Those paying for 3 packs will be essentially getting 2 pack
Those paying for 2 packs will be essentially getting 1 pack
Sky Loyalty have also offered discounts on Sky Sports in comparison to the advertised prices subject to a minimum contract.
It's not beyond the realms of possibility that some customers may use such a change to argue that the contract was broken so they are now out of contract.

Well according to this it’s going out on a combination of Main Event, Arena & Mix.

So as expected the fall people will be Sky Q Subscribers without box sets who will miss out on a load of non F1/Football/Golf/Cricket sport as per usual despite having the complete pack.

That pretty much confirms Arena would be the channel that rebrands. I guess Sky would argue subscribers to just that wouldn't be losing much anyway as Arena would show that darts if they didn't rebrand anyway.
