Sky Sports Revamp

It's on the website now, and is the case for new customers but for those on legacy products (Sky Q Bundle, Sky Q Silver Bundle and others) this was not the case and Sky are actively trying to move people from these products onto the new ones where these kind of rules apply.



For Sky Q Customers, Sky have been clear in saying to at least two people I know that for no Box Sets, no Red Button, no Sky Q App, No Sky Sports HD. For example, EG Right now there is a prompt for a red button on Sky Sports Main Event on my fathers subscription that has Variety + Sky Sports. He presses it and nothing happens and if he goes to the Sky Q Sky Sports App he is told he must upgrade his subscription.

There's no red button prompt on any Sky Sports channel right now, not sure why there would be either as there is no content that needs it. As I said, I'm not on Sky Q so I'll have to check when I am certain there should be a red button prompt.

Can you show me on the website where it says red button not available if you don't have Sky Sports in HD?

There's been red button functionality on Sky Sports Main event for the last week all of the time which links to the Sky Q App for Sky Sports, it works for me but not for people without HD + Box Sets.

The cricket is another good example, right now there is a highlights option for me that shows highlights, for a friend who has original it says: "To use this service, you must upgrade your subscription"

But since you don't believe me I will get him to send me a screenshot which I will post here.

It's not that I don't believe you, I'm just trying to understand, since I haven't seen it anywhere else. You say you have Sky Q with Sky Sports HD so it shouldn't affect you, while I have neither so if what you say is correct it should affect me.

It sounds like a difference between Sky Q and Sky+ then as there is no red button prompt on SS Cricket for me at the moment. Perhaps it's different when it comes to live red button content?

There is live red button content via Sky Sports Golf right now and it is working perfectly fine for me, in SD (basically what's under the red button is Sky Sports Mix SD)

You still have the box sets pack though, by your own admission so it doesn't prove anything.



Try again when your box sets are removed and see how far you get.

I have been told what I have said is the case on social media, via the phone and the box itself even says that to use the red button you must upgrade youyr subscription, are you telling me that everyone is incorrect and both my dads and my friends box are just saying to upgrade their subscription in error?

The Sky Ocean Rescue logo on the cricket scorecard graphics is a terrible piece of graphic design.

With respect, you said I needed Sky Sports in HD, not Box Sets. Will keep an eye on it anyway.

The old logo and graphics are all over the Sky Sports F1 titles, I suspect that won't change until next season.

You cannot get Sky Sports in HD without box sets.

This is the rule now unless you are on a legacy TV package before the current three launched.

Sky Sports HD package is not available to those on the Original or Variety bundle. It can only be added to people who have Variety + Box Sets.

I wasn't disputing this. I was disputing that you said I need Sky Sports HD to access the red button. I don't have Sky Sports HD and the red button works fine for me - I can currently access Race Control on Sky Sports F1. I do have Box Sets, but won't from 18th August so, not wanting to turn this into a DigitalSpy-like row, I will let you know then if I can still access the red button.
