They've been doing that on rugby league for sometime now at half time, I think they also use it just before kick off, it sticks out a bit more now since he rebrand.
At my dad's house and he's been flicking between the Sky Sports channels. Sky Sports Action seemed to be showing rugby match analysis (maybe it's half time) but with a Sky Sports News 'L' graphic on screen just showing rugby news by the look of it. Is that a new thing?

Always been the case with rugby league the graphics remain the same throughout the season.

From early DigiGuide listings, it looks as though Gillette Soccer Saturday will be broadcast on FOUR channels from this coming football season - Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Football, Sky Sports News and Sky 1. I am a football fan, but that's a bit much!

It's only on three channels in Ireland, because we get extra Premier League games on the Premier League channel.

Sky1 showed GSS near enough every Saturday for the last couple of months, I'm hopeful they won't make a regular habit of it.
They showed it on Sky One on the first day of the season last year too. I wouldn't expect it to be a regular thing.

Been doing it at least 2 years on tennis coverage as they used it on the 2015 US Open coverage, which they didn't have last year.

Does cover all bases though in this new subscription model. Be glad it's not on Main Event too....

Perhaps I'm a pedant, or just have OCD, but the new EPG listings for Sky Sports look awful to me. I don't subscribe to a certain person's "channel coding system", but even this looks wrong to me.
Now it looks as though someone has thrown some scrabble tablets on a table and arranged them in a random order . . . beginning with 'Sky'

Can't they just forget the 'Sports' part and call it "Sky PL HD", Sky F'ball HD" etc
They managed to do this with the Movies/Cinema channels a few years ago. Everyone KNEW they were still movie channels (not that anyone watches the linear versions)
There is no mention of 'Cinema' in the channel name.
