I actually think they're better than the current ones, which don't really have a lot happening in them.

The graphics look nice, an evolution of the current set (which never quite got rolled out to all sports). The font looks the same, I could be wrong. Edit: having seen them on air now, they animate nicely!

This is how an ident should look perfect example of live action and animated graphics

Someone was telling me earlier that The Open is on three of these channels at the weekend.

I still wish the idents had more energy. The Sky Cinema idents feel like you're watching premium channels. Considering you pay 2-3 times more for Sky Sports, these just feel like not much thought went into them.

Funny that as I seem to recall people complaining about the loss of the excellent Sky Movies idents with the current Cinema idents.

My problem with the preceding Movies idents was I got tired of them pretty quickly. The variety was limited and they lasted for a considerable amount of time. Whereas I think the current Cinema ones are reminiscent of an ident you'd actually see at a cinema, with nice CGI and a deep, bassy soundtrack.

I guess I'm just looking at the Sky Sports idents from the 90s and thought they had much more adrenaline. The 1996 set, in particular, had an energetic soundtrack that made the event you were about to watch feel quite spectacular. The new Sky Sports idents feel too sedate in comparison, in my opinion.

Not that I could see in the listings but The Open practice round on Wednesday is on Golf, Main Event & Mix.

Are there any BT listings for whats on Sky Sports Extra ?

Main Event doesn't join until half way through though, which might be the reason for it also being on Mix.

Captured the relaunch of Sky Sports 1 HD to Sky Sports Main Event HD. From what I've seen so far, all Sky Sports channels (except The Open and News) is showcasing a promo of the relaunch. The Open is showcasing old programming (Like the other 4 numbered Sports channels did) and News is.... reporting the news.

Looks like no new graphics for Sky Sports News, just a logo change.

Lots of the blinds effect going on Sky Sports News graphics, which might wear thin after a while. There's also an odd thing where some fixtures (but not all) just show the team names, one above the other.

Aside from being flattened, the "L-bar" layout is much the same as before and the music's the same.

The break bumper run an animation with "Golf" or suchlike in the channel font and then "Sky Sports".

Oh and a branding oddity - Sky Sports Premier League's DOG uses the full Premier League logotype, even though the channel logo in other contexts just has the PL symbol.

Hmm my Sky seems to have only moved Sky Sports Mix, the channels have been renamed but no sign of Sky Sports Arena, is this affecting anyone else?
