At least it solves the issue of renaming channels for events such as the Masters or the Ashes.
However what will happen if two 'minority' sports clash? I take it Mix will take some of the flack, but still won't be available to NOW TV customers.

I would imagine they'd keep Sky Sports 1 and 2, and replace 3, 4 and 5 with the dedicated Football and Golf channels? I would also expect a full rebrand, with At The Races becoming Sky Sports Racing at the same time.
With dedicated names for specific sports, wonder what the non-specific sports channel will be called..?
Sky Sports Premier League
Sky Sports Football (Other)
Sky Sports Cricket
Sky Sports Golf
Sky Sports F1
Sky Sports Sports
Sky Sports Premier League
Sky Sports Football (Other)
Sky Sports Cricket
Sky Sports Golf
Sky Sports F1
Sky Sports Sports

Yes. Good point about the rebrand. Wonder if this will spur Sky Sports to ditch the glass effect captioning and go with the flat square simpler style like ESPN, Eurosport and BT Sport have adopted.
Once where Sky's graphics were the best looking around, now having a glossy, glass, beveled effect compared to rivals, looks old fashioned and dated.

When was the last time they completely rebranded everything? I can't remember at this stage, it has been evolution rather than revolution for about ten years now, and as mentioned elsewhere it seems there are different practices in different sports (with at least three sports - NFL, F1, and boxing still using all uppercase graphics).
But one thing I would mention is that if football becomes a seperate package, I would expect the football channel(s) to be at the top of the sports EPG and for the Premier League channel to be 401 and effectively the successor to Sky Sports 1.
Are there any providers still offering only Sky Sports 1 & 2? (I don't think there are any in Ireland anymore anyway). If so, I'd expect them to be pretty cheesed if those channels didn't include the Premier League. As I understood part of the "quid pro quo" for the end of the Wholesale Must Offer rule by Ofcom was that Sky wouldn't seek to move the Premier League off Sky Sports 1 on a regular basis.

BT YouView customers only have Sky Sports 1 and 2. BT Vision+ customers have 1, 2 and 5.

I believe those are legacy products, when I looked into signing up for BT TV in January it was all or nothing.

I would have thought that Ireland would their own opt of the two Sky Sports football channels to allow for the 3pm EPL games while the UK would have the normal SSN simulcast on the PL channel.

I wonder how these changes will affect viewers who watch the 3pm PL games in Ireland?
