My understanding is that Main Event is always a simulcast of another channel, and you get Main Event for free alongside the channels you choose, although this isn't exactly clear.
No, it is only available if you have ALL the channels. Which does seem a bit strange as others have said:
From the T&Cs:
Main Event channel: is a bonus channel showing live content from the other Sky Sports channels at the same time as it is available on such channels. Only available with the Sky Sports Complete Pack.
Well that seems completely pointless.
Three actually considering they could end up on Main Event, though it's clearly priced so that people will opt for all channels rather than just three.

Urgggh. Going well until the league table.

Some very interesting/odd choices there, in particular:
- Prioritising Sky Sports Mix over Sky Arts in the Entertainment genre
- Keeping Sky 1 +1 on 130 whilst booting Sky 2 down to 163/164
- Giving Sky Living +1 a decent slot on 129 but hiding Sky Atlantic +1 on 217
At least the redundant Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Atlantic simulcasts are grouped on 221, 222 and 223.
Sky Sports Mix’s move to the Entertainment section has triggered a reshuffle affecting some Sky channels:
121/286 - Sky Sports Mix
122/287 - Sky Arts
129 - Sky Living+1
163 (GB), 164 (NI) - Sky2
164 (GB) - Pick+1
170 - Challenge+1
217 - Sky Atlantic+1
Depending on your Sky package:
221 - Sky1 SD/HD
222 - Sky Living SD/HD
223 - Sky Atlantic SD/HD
121/286 - Sky Sports Mix
122/287 - Sky Arts
129 - Sky Living+1
163 (GB), 164 (NI) - Sky2
164 (GB) - Pick+1

217 - Sky Atlantic+1

A few days of the correct listings were on DigiGuide well before the new channel names were announced.
Also there are two new channels launching on Tuesday and DigiGuide doesn't have any listings for them yet.
Just because they have the right listings doesn't mean they'll have been told to change the channel names

GO
Radio Times have the new channel names from Tuesday.
Does anyone buy TV listings magazines or weekend newspapers? I noticed the TV Magazine in yesterday's Sun lists Sky Sports 1-5 even after Tuesday (and fails to update Mix's channel number). Is that mistake commonplace?
