Always the case with live sport, both on subscription and free to air, it's often all or nothing, with the weekends naturally being far busier than the weeks.

Sky could do something similar to BT for events not shown on their expected channel and simulcast them on the red button service.

Sky Sports 2 SD currently going out with two DOGs, one on top of the other. The second one is still there during ad breaks.

So that's why the DOG looks brighter?

There was two DOGs overlapping, not the case now - looks like they aligned them up as it's still there but not as bright on the ads.

It's back to overlapping again...

Interesting that the one that comes on during programmes is on top of the one that's there permanently.

Here it is over the adverts that preceeded this programme:

This is what I saw around 1830.

Yes they lined up perfectly on top of each other during the second part of Cricket's Greatest (1830-1900) but before and after that they have overlapped.

Not sure if there is anything to be read into this in the context of this thread - but on Sky Sports' website's "Sport on Sky" section, after Tuesday 18th July, all upcoming live broadcasts (other than F1) are referred to simply as being on "Sky Sports" whereas before that date individual channel names (e.g. "Sky Sports 1 HD") are mentioned.

Likewise, all the promos for the past week have been vo'ed as for example 'Saturday on Sky Sports' and no reference to channel numbers on the end promo captions.

Even The Open in a couple of weeks is just trailed as 'On Sky Sports' rather than what we had last year of 'Sky Sports The Open'

With the exception of Sky Sports F1 HD

I also notice that from Monday, there is horse racing on Sky Sports 1.

Looking at Digigiuide, it appears SS2 is to become the dedicated Premier League channel, SS3 for football, SS4 cricket and SS5 for the golf. SS1 is simulcasting one of the other channels most of the time, including SSNHQ, the only excpetion being when Super League is on.

Nothing new there. Sky have always shown the summer Monday evening Windsor meetings, as and when schedules allows.

..what is bad about that (as observed last Monday evening) is that it's a straight rebroadcast of the At The Races coverage, so it's a chance to see a very sub quality SD picture on a HD channel.

Don't Sky own or part own ATR? I wonder if they'll bring it under the Sky Sports banner and invest in HD cameras/equipment for it?
