Sky Sports Graphics

No interactive for today's match. Bit surprising. Maybe Sky Sports are still holding back some of the graphics for the first Premiership game.

The Sky Sports website changed a few days ago I think and looks much better than the old one.

The new Football Latest Scores thing is excellent and much better and easier to use than the old one.

The match graphics for the Shield game were a weird mix. Sky Sports News looks a bit better though.

The new 'futura' font, reminds me of Central, it's seems to be (I could be wrong) the font they used in their old logo, and at the end of several of their programmes, including Crossroads (85-88 episodes) and Spitting Image.

Does anyone know where I can download this font from. (I don't want to open another thread in the requests section just for this).

Was there a second page of Manchester United departures, or is Jimmy Davis missing from the list because of his tragic accident?

Above is something I found after a tip off, a test of Sky's new interactive system.

No new astons today.
And Sky Sports Active is still the same

Thankfully they have ditched Dario G in the intro for I think it might be Fear Factory (not sure though) and Ian Payne is presenting. Richard being saved until Super Sunday tomorrow.

Plus, Sky have ditched the 'info bar' approach for the Rugby Union, they are now using the same style Scorebox that RL and Football are using.

Perhaps they are saving it for Super Sunday, shame though there's no new graphics, what's the point of the scoreboard change!

I think Sky are going to be doing an across the board revamp of their astons for all sports, but it perhaps has been delayed for some reason so they are sticking with what works at present.

I am sure changes will take place quickly, especially with Sky covering the Champions League as well.

Sky's graphics really are an awful mix of styles and ideas. The previous designs have been used across the board. This mix of styles is a mess, the red Handel Gothic, the same idea but with Futura, the strange scoreboax and the quite good graphics above.

The worst thing about the mix of graphics is that they are awful, especially the Handel Gothic ones, and the infobar idea.

A new, generic set is needed IMO, the interactive ones posted above could quite easily be expanded, and the use of Futura would be a great improvement.
