I've got to say, I'm slightly disappointed they haven't updated the look this year, ISTR there's only one year in the past where they've kept the previous year's graphics. I don't know why but I'm not keen on the current look, I think it's a bit OTT and doesn't look as slick as some in the past have.
Am also not keen on the general pres of the channel, the idents are a bit uninspiring - the best ones they've had where the previous incarnation of the logo (ie like now but with different fonts), they were fantastic.
Only the slightest of changes this morning - the name straps have been cut down and now animate differently on and off-screen. IMO, although they are not bad, the SSN gfx simply do not fit it with the rest of the "evolved" Sky Sports channels. I get the feeling that this is the only change that is to be made, but I really do hope that it is a sign of things to come.

Yes and they keep on upping our subscriptions, the least they can do is treat to us to some new sparkly graphics

quite nice I think. It looks like they've been inspired by CNN International, although the problem is they don't go with the rest of the package.
Sky Sports now has three aston looks, the red and blue blocky one with the white line used from two three years ago, the current look used in footie, rugby etc and then the Cricket one which is by far the best.
I don't ever remember Sky having so many aston graphics, what a mess!
Watching the ESPN Asia broadcast of England v Greece, they are using Sky commentators Martin Tyler and Trevor Francis, and ESPN's astons are let's just say evolution not revolution
Nice to see a new Ford Destination Football Ident. Clear and crisp for the HD viewer. Disappointed about the same 'The Time is Now' Soundtrack, however.
And a new Sky Sports Ident, with the addition of the top four teams - Chelsea, Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal. Notice the 'skysports.com' inclusion.
Bizarrely, Prem Plus has changed it's scorecard graphic - but left everything else the same as last season . Looks god awful; why are Sky not bothering on the presentational front this year? Have they blown the whole budget on HD or something?

Yup it was the same on SS1 earlier, new score graphic but the rest was the same as before. Bit of a pointless change really, the old one looked better.
What is happening to Sky Sports? New URL address on idents looks very cheap. New astons on SSN which have gone backwards and don't match with the rest of the set. Scorline with Black?! and big font without italics. Graphics also seemed to be distorted slightly.
Not even a new background in the SSN studio, still the light blue 2000 era.
Plus the new football promotions, they think that's better than last years?!

I think it's a nice, slick alteration - not 'going back' by any means. As Luke has said, they're simply building up for presumably a big relaunch for next season.
On a sub-note, how come Through The Night is
occassionally
broadcast live from 12-12.15am, yet not consistently?
