I drove past a billboard the other day, and noticed a Sky Sports cricket advert. It had a different logo. Imagine the current Sky Sports logo, take away the red and blue, and the middle dividing line. Seems a strange mistsake to be made, and how would they get a logo without the line if it was a mistake?
Plus will Sky Sports News be getting a new look on August 4th? ( The Day before the new season)
If it was on a billboard, it's possible the line just got covered over by an overlapping sheet, and the logo's lack of colour could be attributed to the design of the "EngXIand" campaign.
As for Sky Sports News... let's hope so! It looks so dated now!!
Whilst I don't mind the current look, it would be nice to see a refresh. I think that I am right in saying that the present graphics have been in place for 2 years (?) and I'm sure that posters have said on here before that Sky Sports have a tedency in refreshing every couple of years or so.
I can't see them changing their logo, as Sky Sports HD has recently adapted it, albeit they've given it more of a 3D swirly look. Someone on the Forum did post caps ot the Sky Sports HD Ident, which was the same idea as the current Sky Sports ident, but the swirls in the background were black rather than blue, this would make a nice change on the normal Sky Sports channels.
Though I cannot really see them doing anything drastic in terms of relaunch until Summer 2007 when the new Football rights come into force.
it's strange really, their idents are awful, they have three different styles of astons at the moment which is unusual for Sky Sports it has to be said, now I hope that maybe the footie and the rugby all adopt the cricket graphics to some extent that would be nice!
why can't Sky revert back to their original logaos (admittedly adapted for todays YV World) but would love to see Sky 1,2 & 3 use the neon logo and would really love to see the original Sky Sports logo back - now that was a channel ident/logo. Would also like to see Sky movies use the old BSB/Sky Movie Channel logo - again a fantastic bit of graphics for a tv logo.
I know Nini doesn't like those graphics, which is a shame, but they are more alive than todays which are just far too plain and non-descrpit

Those are my favourite. With a bit of tweaking, they would not look out of place today! The nearest to those today are GMTV.
Im sick of this modern stuff, Id rather have style than modern.

The cricket graphics are amazing, I love the way they turned the whole graphics green for Pakistan.
to answer the original post - the same advert was reprinted in todays daily mirror and it is the current logo just outlined in white, it does appear that your billboard posters covered up the seperating bar between SKY and SPORTS.
